We are seeking a highly resourceful and well-connected
Government Liaisoning Officer
to manage statutory approvals, excise coordination, regulatory compliance, and government department interactions for our alcobev and sugar operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Maharashtra excise norms, distillery regulations, environmental permissions, and statutory requirements related to manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, and logistics.
Key Responsibilities
1. Excise & Alcobev Regulation
Liaise with the
Maharashtra State Excise Department
for licenses, permits, renewals, and regulatory filings.
Manage excise documentation including
, etc.
Ensure smooth coordination for inspections, audits, stock verifications, and compliance checks.
Track all license renewal deadlines and ensure zero lapses.
2. Government & Regulatory Liaisoning
Maintain strong relationships with local, state, and semi-government authorities such as:
Excise Department
FDA
Pollution Control Board (MPCB)
Labour Department
MIDC
Local Municipal Corporations
GST & Tax authorities
Follow up on policy changes and notify management about relevant regulatory updates affecting alcobev and sugar operations.
3. Permissions, Approvals & Compliance
Coordinate for obtaining approvals related to manufacturing expansion, warehousing, logistics, and product registrations.
Handle documentation for
NOCs, renewals, permissions, and statutory filings
.
Ensure timely submission of excise and government compliance reports.
Maintain updated files, records, and MIS for all government interactions.
4. Distillery & Sugar Unit Coordination
Support government compliance and approvals related to:
Distillery operations
Molasses movement
Ethanol production
Sugar mill regulatory compliances
Manage liaisoning for
pollution control, fire & safety compliance, labour regulations, and factory inspections
.
5. Representation & Communication
Represent the company in government meetings, hearings, inspections, and audits.
Build positive rapport with regulatory officials while maintaining professionalism and ethical standards.
Provide timely reports to management on work progress, potential issues, and compliance risks.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Graduate in any field; preference for candidates with background in
Law, Public Administration, or Political Science
.
Minimum
5-10 years of liaisoning experience
with government departments in Maharashtra.
Experience in the
alcobev, sugar, distillery, FMCG, or manufacturing sectors
is strongly preferred.
Must have strong knowledge of state excise regulations and relevant statutory frameworks.
Excellent communication, networking, and negotiation skills.
Must be comfortable travelling extensively across Mumbai, Thane, and district-level offices.
