Role Overview

The family is seeking a well-qualified, mature, and nurturing Governess to oversee the academic development, daily routine, and holistic upbringing of their 10-year-old son. The role requires a balance of education, discipline, emotional guidance, and etiquette.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support the child's academic progress in line with school curriculum Assist with homework, projects, exam preparation, and concept clarity Plan age-appropriate educational and developmental activities Encourage good study habits, time management, and discipline Support emotional development, confidence-building, and social skills Maintain structured daily routines including study, play, and rest Coordinate with parents and school teachers; provide regular progress updates Accompany the child to activities or classes when required Promote good manners, etiquette, and respectful behavior

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong academic foundation; ability to tutor core subjects independently Excellent spoken English (native or near-native preferred) Patient, calm, and child-focused personality Organized, disciplined, and proactive Ability to balance firmness with warmth Culturally sensitive and adaptable

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or related field preferred Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Governess, Teacher, or Tutor (private household experience preferred) Experience working with children aged 8-12 years International exposure or experience in the Middle East is a plus
