Gold Valuation Executive

Job Summary:

The Gold Valuation Executive is responsible for accurately assessing the purity, weight, and market value of gold ornaments and articles brought in by customers. The role ensures fair valuation in accordance with company policies and current gold market rates, maintaining transparency, accuracy, and customer trust.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct

accurate valuation

of gold jewelry and articles using standard tools (acid test, specific gravity test, carat meter, etc.).

Verify purity, weight, and authenticity

of gold items before processing loans or purchases. Record valuation details and

maintain proper documentation

for each transaction. Keep updated with

daily gold rates

and adjust valuations accordingly. Ensure

compliance with company policies

and

regulatory norms

(KYC, anti-fraud checks, etc.). Handle

customer queries

with professionalism, clarity, and transparency. Coordinate with

branch staff

and

management

for smooth processing of gold loan disbursement or sale transactions. Safeguard gold items and ensure proper

storage and inventory management

. Report discrepancies, fraudulent items, or valuation disputes immediately. Participate in

training and audits

to maintain quality and accuracy standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

Graduate (preferably in Commerce, Science, or relevant field).

Experience:

1-3 years of experience in gold valuation, jewelry retail, or gold loan operations.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of gold purity testing methods (touchstone, carat meter, nitric acid test, etc.) Familiarity with weighing scales and valuation software Understanding of gold market pricing and valuation principles

Soft Skills:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good communication and interpersonal skills Customer service orientation Integrity and trustworthiness

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Accuracy of valuations Turnaround time for valuation Customer satisfaction Compliance with audit standards

Work Environment:

Branch-based / retail outlet setting Handling precious items -- requires vigilance and adherence to security norms
