The Godown Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. They maintain inventory accuracy, enforce safety protocols, and coordinate with other departments to support smooth logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain inventory records through manual or computerized systems.
Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Ensure proper storage conditions and hygiene standards are maintained.
Monitor and coordinate the movement of goods within the warehouse.
Supervise warehouse staff, providing training and support.
Implement safety procedures and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Coordinate with procurement, sales, and logistics teams for seamless operations.
Manage stock rotation, expiry tracking, and waste disposal.
Prepare reports related to stock levels, turnover, and warehouse performance.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in warehouse or inventory management.
Knowledge of warehouse operations, safety guidelines, and inventory control.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficiency in using warehouse management software is an advantage.
Educational qualification: Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or relevant field.
Work Environment:
The role involves physical activity, including lifting and moving goods.
Requires adherence to safety standards and protocols.
Usually based in a warehouse or storage facility, with occasional visits to other sites.
