is responsible for leading and overseeing the entire quality function across all manufacturing operations, including incoming, in-process, and final inspection. The role ensures that all products consistently meet customer, statutory, and internal quality standards. The GM-Quality drives a culture of continuous improvement, zero defects, and customer satisfaction throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:Strategic & Leadership:
Define, implement, and maintain the organization's
Quality Management System (QMS)
in line with ISO/IATF standards.
Lead the quality team to achieve
zero-defect manufacturing
and high customer satisfaction.
Establish and monitor
quality KPIs
(rejection rate, rework, customer complaints, etc.).
Develop and implement
quality strategies and policies
aligned with business goals.
Lead customer and third-party audits; ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards.
Drive initiatives for
continual improvement
, process control, and cost reduction.
Mentor and develop quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
Operational:
Oversee
incoming, in-process, and final inspection
activities to ensure product conformity.
Review and approve
control plans, inspection plans, and process validation documents
.
Ensure robust implementation of
root cause analysis (RCA)
and
corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
for non-conformances.
Coordinate with production, design, and maintenance teams for quality improvement and problem resolution.
Manage calibration of all measuring instruments, gauges, and CMMs.
Ensure traceability and documentation for all quality records, test reports, and certifications.
Lead
supplier quality management
activities including supplier audits and material approval.
Monitor and respond to
customer complaints and feedback
, ensuring timely resolution and preventive measures.
Implement and promote
5S, Kaizen, SPC, and Lean manufacturing practices
within the quality function.
Qualifications & Skills:
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Metallurgical, or Industrial Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
10+ years of experience in quality management, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in
foundry, machining, or automotive components manufacturing
.
In-depth knowledge of
ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements
.
Strong understanding of
casting, machining, and metallurgical processes
.
Expertise in
GD&T, CMM inspection, SPC, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and MSA
.
Proven track record in leading audits and achieving customer approvals.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and quality data analysis tools.
