-General Manager- Production (Edible Oil Industry)

Role Purpose
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Develop and execute the procurement strategy in alignment with business requirement.
Evaluate and develop alternate suppliers to reduce dependency and enhance cost competitiveness.
Stay updated on global and local market trends to make timely and cost-effective buying decisions.
Oversee day-to-day procurement operations to ensure on-time availability of materials for manufacturing setup across.
Coordinate with production, packaging, utility, store, and R&D teams for seamless supply planning.
Ensure accuracy and transparency in procurement processes through SAP
Build strong relationships with suppliers and traders.
Negotiate long-term contracts, supply agreements, and credit terms ensuring best price, quality, and timely service.
Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews to maintain quality and reliability.
Drive vendor development initiatives for sustainable and ethical sourcing.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing purchase team.
Establish clear KPIs and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Represent the purchase function in monthly/quarterly business reviews
Compliance
Ensure all procurement activities comply with statutory norms, and food safety regulations.
Promote sustainable sourcing and traceability in line with company ESG goals.
Cost Optimization & Compliance
Develop annual procurement budgets and deliver targeted cost savings.
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical sourcing standards.
Manage risk through effective contracts, insurance coverage, and contingency planning. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIS: (Degree, training, or certification required)
