Job Summary:

The General Manager (Civil) will be responsible for leading, planning, and executing multiple construction projects from initiation to completion. The role involves strategic planning, project management, team leadership, client coordination, and ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.

Primary accountability:

Profit & Loss (P&L) performance of the Civil Department Revenue generation and project billing targets Cost control and budget adherence Timely project delivery with quality and safety compliance
The GM Civil functions as the

business head

of the civil division -- responsible not just for project execution, but also for ensuring that every project contributes positively to the company's financial results.

2. Supporting Roles & Shared Responsibilities:

Project Managers / Construction Managers:

Achieve project-specific timelines, budgets, and margins. Prepare progress bills and control costs.

Planning & Billing Engineers:

Prepare and monitor cash flow, billing schedules, and cost reports.

Procurement & Contracts Team:

Manage vendor negotiations and ensure material cost optimization.

Finance Department:

Track revenue realization and profitability reports.

QS / Estimation Team:

Ensure accurate cost estimation and pricing during tendering.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and decision-making ability. Excellent project planning and contract management skills. Proficient in project management tools (Primavera/MS Project). Deep understanding of civil engineering principles, standards, and codes. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

Qualification:

B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering

(mandatory)

M.E./M.Tech or MBA in Project Management / Construction Management

(preferred)

Experience Required: 15+ years in civil construction (preferably in infrastructure, residential, commercial, or industrial projects)
