Responsibilities: Job purpose Deliver and develop approved technical training for internal and external trainees at recognized technical training centers. The role is responsible for coordinating with SMEs to update literature and materials to be used in training programs (videos, technical work instruction, etc.) and developing exercises to enhance learning objectives to account for new capabilities or changes in business objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities

OPERATIONS
  • Responsible for delivery of training, technical competency development, and career progression requirements:
  • Coordinate all talent management solutions for the Digital Solutions team
  • Provide training support for all clients for Oil Field Automation in oil and gas production, geothermal energy, and carbon capture in subsurface reservoirs
  • Assist with developing and delivering a training program to solve customers\xe2\x80\x99 challenges for digital transformation in the drilling and production domain
  • Provide technical leadership to multi-disciplinary projects/Product Lines when required
  • Proficiency in all aspects of the technical training development and delivery, and managing the technical competency development activities, but not limited to:
  • Ensure technical training documentation is relevant and up to date
  • Create, maintain, and sustain Training & Competency documentation standards and follow them
  • Work with the Global Technical Development, Infrastructure Team, and other Product Lines\' Training and Competency Managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Instructional Designers
  • Develop and deliver Digital Oil Field training using field automation installation, configuration, and maintenance including:
  • Installation of drilling data aggregator and configuring data transmission using cellular/satellite networks
  • Installation and configuration of water-cut and multiphase production meters and data transmission using SCADA protocols
  • Installation of wellsite surface sensors and control devices including but not limited to Valves, Pressure, Temperate, Flow, Level, and Remote Terminal Units (RTU), remote terminal unit (RTU)
  • Installation of variable frequency drive for Rod Lift, ESP, PCP operations
  • Installation of IoT edge devices for data acquisition for drilling, production, and flow measurement
  • Supporting, designing and deploying oil & gas production optimization, control, and monitoring systems. Process knowledge includes liquid and gas flow measurement, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems, heat transfer & fluid dynamics
  • Using well-site automation, SCADA protocols, and engineering processes related to field operations for managing oil and gas production
  • Managing customer engagement including and not limited to requirement discussion, proposal preparation, delivery schedules, and delivery ticket submission
  • Provide designs, documentation, installation support, and maintenance of electrical and electronic control systems associated with the well site or facility control, wired and wireless communications infrastructure, and production monitoring systems
  • Provide system integration and implementation, including Logic Design and Equipment Configuration. Installation and wiring practices for electrical and electronic systems installed in hazardous locations, specifically Class I, Division 1 and 2, and Class I, Zone 0, 1, and 2. Evaluate and maintain drilling fluids to optimize hole cleaning
  • Delivering deployment of field instrumentation and signal interfacings including discrete, analog, digital and serial devices such as RS485 and RS232. Using domain knowledge to provide support for communication technologies and device protocols such as but not limited to Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC
  • Adhere to Training department policies and procedures. work with the Training and Competency Manager to deliver training projects ensuring that all milestones of budget and timeline are met in line with project objectives
  • Facilitate pre- and post-training client sessions that determine needs/challenges, address client questions, manage expectations and resolve concerns to exceed clients\xe2\x80\x99 expectations and meet internal quality, time, and budget constraints
  • Lead, mentor, and train team members for the effective development of learning and competence standards, content improvement, and domain development
  • Remain current on industry regulations, developments, and the technical community. Contribute to the global technical society in thought leadership exercises and advisory boards
  • Complete all mandatory training, as assigned, including the required HSE training, in compliance with corporate and business unit guidelines. Maintain an acceptable HSE record
  • Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures, and Workplace Instructions
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the job

Qualifications: Experience & Education
REQUIRED
  • BA/BS/BE Degree in Petroleum Engineering OR higher with oil gas industry work experience
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience including working in international locations and 3+ years as a Technical Training Instructor
  • Working knowledge of the Oil & Gas Industry
PREFERRED
  • Experience with Python, VB Script, C# (or other .NET language)
  • Previous IT or Enterprise Software experience

  • Technical-minded and very knowledgeable in the product line category
  • Ability to manage, motivate and assess a dynamic work group
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively train and mentor personnel in classroom and field environments.
  • Knowledge of technical training program design and development techniques
  • Ability to plan, delegate, schedule and monitor results
  • Good oral and written communication skills are a necessity
