Background Information

In this role you will work as part of the Global Supply Chain Finance Services (SCFS) Process Excellence and Capabilities (PEC) team at Unilever.

We work in a dynamic environment with significant change in ways of working resulting from continuous improvement projects, automated/robotised solutions, data driven insights.

With our ambitious continuous improvement and new scope agenda, we are focusing on different aspects. Redesigning the global process models, process optimizations by utilizing third party service provider and technology solutions, lead and own the design of global/regional projects. Ensure compliance in financial controls and develop solutions to drive analytics and insights.

SCFS activities are delivered from 5 locations across 3 continents - Europe (Katowice and Rotterdam), Americas (Mexico) and Asia (Manila and India).

Overall Purpose of the PEC role

The SCF(S) Process Excellence Manager is the key leadership role in strategic development of integrated Supply Chan Finance services and IT. You are responsible to develop and lead SCFS processes optimization and automation agenda. The role reports directly to Global PEC lead with strong functional link to leaders in the operating centres and works closely with counterparts located in the Regions.

You will drive process compliance with Global Process Model, delivering efficiencies and complexity reduction, continuously improving the operational processes and technology solutions. The role ensures internal and external benchmarking in order to identify and implement best-in-class processes and IT solutions. You play a key role in global harmonization and alignment of SCFS processes as well as processes compliance with Global Financial Controls Framework. The role gives unique opportunity to develop subject matter expertise in the end to end Supply Chain Finance processes as well as in relevant IT technologies and systems (e.g. SAP).

This role requires an energetic and pro-active individual with continuous improvement mindset, good understanding of Supply Chain Finance processes combined with strong SAP expertise. You will need excellent project management skills with ability to deliver through virtual teams, great stakeholder and relationship management skills, with a proven track record of success in leading complex transformation programs.

Purpose of the job

In Unilever we have 4 different SAP platforms across the globe, each having their specifics and differences.

In this role you will co-lead, re-imagine and redesign the edge to edge SCF global process model. And deliver the Global SCF Transformation journey for the functional areas and clusters, with the ambition to achieve a best in class and future fit SCF organization.

You will be responsible to design and implement the e2e SCF processes covering the entire Process Model i.e. Materials, Make, Logistics... The aim is to develop a Global Process Model (GPM) that establishes the foundation for SCF to become future fit by implementing this globally.

During the design phase you will connect Globally with all SCF teams to understand the current processes and craft the end state model applying the strategy levers such as automation, outsourcing etc. You will be responsible to create an implementation plan for roll-out by country/cluster.

Once the deployment plan is approved you will roll-out the GPM in the cluster/country and you will work closely with your colleagues in PEC and Operating centres, SCF, IT and 3PSP. Change management is a key element to ensure all stakeholders are onboarded on time and in full to achieve a successful go-live and land the operations with the right customer experience. After successful deployment you will be accountable for the Business as usual delivery of the operations team for your dedicated SCF areas.

Key Accountabilities

Play a key role in redesigning processes by creating a Global Process model future fit and best in class by applying: Process improvement, simplification, automation, outsourcing and centralization (Tier 3 model)

Feasibility assessment and construct Business Case Proposals

Responsible for Project roadmap planning, coordination and delivery aligned with all stakeholders

Lead and Own the E2E Global Process Model (GPM) Design, Governance and Compliance for the areas of:

Material & Product Masters and Workflow Processes (GFCF Compliance)

E2E Costing Processes i.e.. Innovation Costing and Standard Costing for Material Costs and Production Costs (GFCF compliance)

Manage and Deliver implementation of "Big Changes" to Global Process Model, Capabilities and Transformation

Deliver Internal UniOps and Stakeholder Change management, Trainings and Communication

Support with detailed E2E impact assessments on design changes considering impact on teams (direct/indirect) in Unilever, perform feasibility assessments and construct business cases

Perform deep dive analysis of current Unilever SAP platforms. Produce improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiencies and streamline / strengthen processes from a set-up and controls point of view.

Deliver Digital Disruption and Future Fit Agenda (External view and new tech solutions)

Cooperate with Peers in Global Design to cover cross workstream processes E2E

Work Closely with the Operations Teams to support Continuous improvement Agenda and Potential Design changes

Communication to SC Finance organization in different clusters/countries and UniOps teams

Subject matter expertise for Supply Chain Finance processes and country issues; Understanding, creation & maintenance of Global Process Models (GPMs), Narratives & Desktop procedures

Land Projects in Operations with right Customer experience together with the Ops teams

Responsible for delivery and governance of Globally centralized Supply Chain Finance activities with high quality, in a timely manner and with a focus on excellent operational and financial performance

Accountable for the scope of centralized Global SCF Operations activities incl controls for your specified SCF area

Responsible for the overall stakeholder management and governance with Market Operations Partner and Peers in Global Operations.

5+ years of professional experience, including team leadership and change management

Broad experience and understanding of Supply Chain Finance processes

Experience in regional / global roles interacting virtually with stakeholders across multiple locations

Deep understanding of Product Costing process

Direct Reports

Direct line management of ~ 2 UL Wl1 resources and a team of 3PSP. The candidate will also be required to demonstrate stakeholder management across peers and superiors.
