Job SummaryThe Group Consolidation and Reporting Lead will effectively manage the Group financial reporting function and ensure delivery and compliance to deliver:

  • Optimised Group Consolidation and Reporting Process: Group Financial Statements produced at a segment level, with efficiency and avoiding reliance on multiple country signoffs.
  • Increased Control: Leveraging appropriate technology to ensure the right data is extracted, transformed, and loaded into reporting systems without errors or inconsistencies.
  • Quality Insights: Utilise tools that allow for real-time data analysis that enable effective challenge and review of the Group's consolidated financials and external disclosures.
The role will have responsibility to support and execute right-shoring strategy for the Group Reporting function under our Fit for Growth (FFG) program. Role will be responsible to have a strong engagement model with the Legal Entity Controlling teams in Chennai and the Group Financial Reporting team at the Centre providing best in class financial reporting with provision of strong control governance framework.
  • The individual must be a qualified Chartered Accountant with 15+ years' work experience in leading & managing a controller function. Have exposure to a right-shored model (preferably with a financial services background). Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, strong problem-solving skills and hands-on operational experience. Strategic mindset with strong experience in implementation of strategic changes as well as knowledge of IFRS and standard accounting practices in the context of financial services. Excellent business judgment, operational control management and risk assessment. Strong connect with business performance metrics and how it is enabled through good process discipline. Should have strong knowledge and understanding of data management, data quality and its linkage in driving external reporting for the Group. Good eye for detail and a strong focus on controls and compliance to policies and procedures. Results orientation, exceptional energy, and ambition to drive systems, technology and process changes across geographies. Demonstrated experience of influencing decisions at senior leadership level. Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work with cross cultural teams. Possesses interpersonal skills to influence and skilfully build credibility with stakeholders. Experience of working in a global organisation in a matrix environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesGroup Reporting Accountabilities
  • Accountable for Primary and Secondary Financials for IFRS Reporting at the Group consolidated level.
  • Ensuring financial results are accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant accounting principles & monitor effective control environment.
  • Orchestrate faster book close through Command Centre.
  • Sign-off Group financial results in accordance with IFRS standards meeting all audit asserts and ensure compliance to all policies.
  • Provide robust review and challenge to IFRS primary financials and external disclosures to ensure accuracy with Group reporting materiality thresholds.
  • Communicating financial information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Group Reporting Team at the Centre on ECL and VIR processes.
Reporting operations:
  • Leverage controlled data extraction capabilities for decision making.
  • Provide strategic information and advice to the management team.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation for audit trails and compliance purposes.
  • Automating processes or improving existing procedures.
  • Fast close delivered to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Data quality issues identified and prioritised.
  • Leverage AI and analytics data transformation tools.
  • Produce MI to show the quality of book close through the cycle (P&L shape, daily Command Centre dashboard).
  • Drive improvements in the notes production process through automation.
  • The preparation and validation of all Group financial reporting processes at a segment level including external disclosures.
  • Point of contact for Group Financial Reporting to external auditors.
Controls and Risk Management:
  • Establishing and maintaining effective internal controls to prevent reporting errors.
  • Identifying and assessing financial risks and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Centrally owned standardised 'fit for reporting' processes.
  • Standard and efficient consolidation / reporting processes.
  • Ensuring adherence to accounting and financial reporting controls and standards when executing processes day-to-day processes (ACG compliant).
  • Support Senior Manager level attestations.
Regulatory and business conduct:
  • Defining policies and standards for financial reporting applicable for the entire group.
  • Work with Group Controller to ensure compliance and transparency in financial reporting and to uphold standards in delivery, governance and controls.
  • Relationship management with Group Finance Team at the Centre to ensure they are informed of all accounting submissions, early communication of issues and initiative-taking leadership on mitigation.
  • Support Group Financial Controller to ensure compliance to accounting standards and the Group's external reporting governance framework.
People and Culture:
  • To lead, inspire and motivate your team ensuring that everyone achieves their potential, and the team delivers its collective agenda.
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of colleagues and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Employ, engage, and retain high quality colleagues, with succession planning for critical roles.
  • Responsibility to review team structure and capacity planning.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in alignment with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
Change Management
  • Work closely with the data management team to define GL standards and accounting treatments to help balance control and Financial and Business performance reporting requirements.
  • Establish clear RACI that defines ownership of standards and control on execution.
  • Represent the function at the governance forums in place for change initiatives and influence decisions in respect of the change backlog, prioritisation, and choice of technology tools.
  • Lead design as SME in relevant change initiatives and ensure seamless execution of requirements
Risk Management
  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group relevant to Group Reporting processes.
Governance
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Responsible for delivering 'effective governance' in Group External Reporting; capability to challenge colleagues and functions constructively and effectively.
