Global Process Data Lead

ole Responsibilities & Accountabilities Duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Lead process teams (including partner and IT (DTS) support as well as regional / BU resources) through the following responsibilities (not doing all the work; yet facilitating that work).
  • Facilitate / lead process teams in the following:
    • Data Definition (DD) – Mixture of business and technical information – Includes Business global standard definition of business use of field, if mandatory or not, naming conventions, structure (number of characters, type), legal & privacy information, valid values, List of values and some technical additions of how data is captured and where, etc. (led by Process Data Lead (PDL) / data lead with technical support from partner / DTS)
    • Functional Unit Test (FUT) - testing that design through DD / FMD / FD resulting in template build and validate against reports to ensure follows design (Process Data Lead led with functional analyst, data analyst, data conversion data designer, data conversion data developer)
    • Value Mapping - The process of mapping existing configuration values to new configuration values - the process of translating values between two systems based on a new business process. PDL led consulting with all functional and technical resources
    • Data Construction - Data construction is the manual creation of data where it does not exist in legacy or is not easily extractable (or is incorrect in legacy systems) and is needed to support the designed solution. (PDL led consulting with all functional and technical resources)
    • Data De-duplication: the removal of duplicate records (typically more likely found in customer or vendor data) based on a set criteria that identifies the ultimate surviving unique record. De-duplication can apply to any data object. (PDL led consulting with all functional and technical resources)
    • Pre-Mock and post Load Validation: Review of data validation reports ahead of and after mock activities in order to identify issues in the data (PDL led (POST given reports from data team) consulting with all functional and technical resources)
    • Error Triage - Resolution of data records that fail validation checks (identified in error reports) (PDLs led with BUEs)
    • Legacy Data Cleansing - The assessment and subsequent clean-up of existing source data to meet the required solution requirements is called data cleansing. This is physically changing data in source before it is finally extracted for conversion. However, it is not always possible to change data in legacy and therefore should be considered with discretion in order not to disrupt any existing technical or functional usages of this data. (PDLs led with BUEs)
    • Validation User Script - Documented steps for user validation for functional and business validation – (led by PDL)
  • Participate in discussion to support business requirements in the following:
    • Field Mapping Document (FMD) - The mapping will detail field by field, the data requirements for target S4 and the existing data that is available in the legacy systems (SAP or non-SAP). In a simple one legacy system conversion, a single Data Mapping spreadsheet would be created for each master data object and each transaction type (Purchase Order, Inventory, etc.) to explain how the legacy system’s fields will be mapped to the target fields. (led by technical team – partner or DTS with process team, potentially data team, business or technical users)
    • Functional Design (FD) - This document captures the functional specification for how data is converted from the existing legacy source systems, both SAP and non-SAP systems, into the target S4 system (functional process, conversion approach, source systems, data volumes, relevancy rules, de-duplication / harmonization, dependencies to conversion, data protection and security and perf requirements, readiness checks to be included (config, data object dependencies, technical system, process and business specific checks identified), specific scenarios not yet included in FMD, conversion functional design. (led by data conversion data designer with PDL, Functional analyst and data analyst)

  • Answer any questions related to business needs from technical teams who lead the following:
    • Template Build – led by technical team (Data conversion data developer with data conversion data designer)
    • Build tasks – led by technical team (Data conversion data developer with data conversion data designer, data analyst and functional analyst)
    • Technical Design (TD) – led by technical team (Data conversion data developer with data conversion data designer)
  • Deliver on data roadmap commitments as defined by the project
  • Support the new data governance and change control processes and champion relentless documentation of all data standards and usage designs.
  • Identify how to track, trend and measure the quality of completeness and accuracy of all deliverables.
  • Have a continuous improvement approach that will leverage digital tools, leading practices and identify opportunities to improve the overall process.
  • In support of the data roadmap, ensure proper controls (including, but not limited to SOX / internal controls) are in place to monitor process data quality while partnering with DTS teams to define data quality rules and build scorecards.
Capability / Stewardship
  • Build internal capability to sustain business owned data governance and stewardship ongoing.
  • Develop and execute next generation training (as needed) to empower and accelerate Kimberly-Clark’s full potential.
  • Be a leader in change management for project Aurora
Customers: Project Aurora Supply Chain, Finance and GBS Capability Owners, Global Process Owners, Regional Subject Matter Experts, Global Centers of Expertise, Data and Analytics Governance Council, Global Supply Chain Functional (Logistics / Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality / Regulatory / Compliance, Environment Health Safety & Sustainability) and Data, Analytics & Insights team, GSC functional and regional teams, DTS, GBS, as well as External Vendors & Customers. Scope: The incumbent reports directly to one of the Aurora Global Process Owners. The Process Data Lead (Consultant) will help facilitate process data design, readiness and ongoing governance. The role will drive global data simplification, standardization, harmonization and differentiation where it adds value. Creates customer focused practices while challenging paradigms. Provide facilitation and project management for all elements of process data to deliver necessary process transformation needs on time and in budget. Qualifications/Education/Experience Required:
  • BA or BS in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business Administration
  • Ideally 7+years of supply chain or process engineering experience with demonstrated track record of delivering cross functional results (preferably at least 2 years experience within Global Consumer Product organizations)
  • Very strong understanding of data needs from processes including hierarchies, relationships, and dependencies
  • Operational experience in driving global standardization and potentially data readiness tasks
  • Must be hands on and detail oriented, but also able to see the big picture
  • Strong project management skills with excellent organizational skills as well as experience leading and/or supporting complex business or ideally global projects.
  • Strong, concise and impactful communication and influencing skills
  • Resourceful and independent; thrives in a changing and dynamic work environment (adaptive to changing priorities, ability to work through ambiguity and adversity)
  • Eagerly accepts stretch goals. Takes personal responsibility for decisions and delivering results.

  • Fluent in English – Required (Additional languages preferred)
  • Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. SAP experience required.
