About the role

The Global People Data Management, Governance and Reporting Lead will sit on the leadership team on the Global People Data and Analytics team in the HR function. The purpose of the Global People Data Analytics (PDA) team in GSK is to generate insights by leveraging science and people data to drive strategic people decision-making at scale.

A comprehensive people data strategy, along with robust data management and governance is critical to enabling the team to deliver its purpose. The focus will be to ensure that the people data strategy fully supports the delivery of strategic and operational plans.

Driving data-based people decision making would provide GSK a strategic advantage towards meeting its priorities and getting ahead together.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working hand in hand with our Behaviour Science and Employee Listening Lead, Data Science Lead, Global HR Process and Systems Leads and PDA Product owners to build key data pipelines and deploy models to help with projects in the pipeline. This may expand to ingesting key business metrics required for ROI calculations and Analytics projects
  • Act as the Data Privacy and HR Risk liaison for People Data and Analytics initiatives; includes working with the HR Country Heads, Legal team, and Works Councils to ensure we have the right approvals for the potential use-cases.
  • To help maintain and enhance our People Insight Ecosystem (PIE \xe2\x80\x93 data lake) to include (but is not limited to):
  • The business requirements for data processing, reporting and analytics projects
  • To drive the adoption of data standards and data quality management techniques for our HR systems that feed into our People Insights Ecosystem (PIE \xe2\x80\x93 data lake)
  • The strategy for data collection, management & maintenance
  • The overall organization of the people data (transactional systems, reporting systems, management systems) and the metadata
  • The conceptual-level data design (e.g. business information models)
  • Data lifecycle management, including archival, of data
  • The interlock with other strategies such as process, application, infrastructure, and business intelligence
  • Creating and managing a service model that delivers data timely and accurately to a wide variety of stakeholders and downstream products.
  • You will be accountable for development, maintenance and delivery of workday reporting functionality and analytics. The Workday Reporting and BI Lead will report into this role.
  • Implementing the necessary governance model (i.e. data access, data retention, disaster/recovery, etc,) based on stakeholder requirement and GSK\xe2\x80\x99s data retention policy.
  • Maintaining and improving our data model, architecture and data platform and ensure it compliance to GSK\xe2\x80\x99s privacy and tech standards.
  • Defining and managing the cost model for the Data platforms and the resources who work on the platform.
  • Ensure the most effective tools and technologies are used for BI and Data Science.
  • To ensure that cross-organizational data access requirement, including at the GSK Corporate level, are understood, and are appropriately addressed within our People Insights Ecosystem (PIE \xe2\x80\x93 data lake)
  • To keep abreast of emerging trends in data integration and design technologies and integrate them into the PIE architectures when appropriate
Why you?

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in computer science, engineering, or similar discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in information, data, solution, or enterprise architecture in a technology division
  • Direct line management experience leading teams of developers and/or architects
  • Experience with streaming data systems and complex event processing
  • Experience of Agile and DevOps
  • Experience with vendor management
  • Experience with Big Data, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Visualization, and/or Data Virtualization for both structured and/or unstructured data
  • Experience with relationship management and senior stakeholder management
  • Experience with all artefacts of modelling information in an enterprise
  • Experience with integration of AI and ML in business applications
  • Experience deploying data catalogues and master data solutions in a large enterprise
  • Advocate data security and the appropriate use of information and data within the target information and data architecture
  • Agile mindset, comfortable working at pace through ambiguity and disruptive transformation
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and be able to deal with ambiguity and handle sensitive situations
  • Aptitude for D&A and digital approaches, mindset, and cultures
