Global Logistics Contracts Specialist
This role has been designated as ‘Edge’, which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office. :
Core tasks:

  • You will review, draft and leverage content to create legally binding documents to support contract terms.
  • Lead negotiation from Contracts team to resolve contractual disputes by leveraging financial, operational and legal know-how. Influence and assist Logistics Sourcing in procurement decisions by supplementing legal/ contract perspectives and industry prevalent practices in Logistics Contracts.
  • Perform timely Risk Vs Reward analysis - Identify critical issues in the contract, highlight market regulatory/ legal implications if any, provide direction towards resolution of the same and escalate at the appropriate time towards resolving them. Issue early warning signals in case of delay on the part of Customers / Contractors and advise mitigation actions.
  • Manage end-to-end Contract Life Cycle Management - Drafting, Reviews, alignment externally and internally across Legal/ Finance/ Logistics Sourcing/ BUs/ 3PLs/etc, Contract ammendments / renewals, KPI and Contract performance management
  • Builds strong relationships with the company's legal colleagues, senior business owners, sourcing leads, support functions, as well as logistics partners to facilitate effective and efficient Contract management for Logistics.
  • Acts as trusted advisor to Global Logistics Sourcing & Contracts Leader in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Perform Record retention, Policy updates, SLA tracking, Sourcing Communications & Compliance tasks as assigned.

  • Transform Logistics Contracts Management to a best-in-class Centre of Excellence team by implementing Contract Life Cycle tools, robust and structured processes, establishing relevant KPI and providing value enablers to our internal Business Unit stakeholders.

  • Fosters teamwork and encourages effective communication within the team.
  • Takes an active role in cross-train and assist contract negotiators and business teams to close significant external facing contracts for company.
Education and Experience Required:
  • First level university degree required; advanced university degree (e.g., law degree) preferred.
  • Typically 7-10 years of experience in Contract management with experience in Logistics domain.
  • Proven ability as subject matter expert in one or more contracts functional areas, combined with significant experience providing contracts support to multi-business unit deals.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Superior knowledge of key business and contractual risks in logistics domain and prevalent market practices in Logistics Contracts.
  • Advanced written, verbal and presentation skills catered to a wide variety of audiences; with mastery in English drafting skills.
  • Strong contracts support skills.
