GIS Research Associate + Trainer (R&D Focus)

Strict Eligibility Criteria (Non-negotiable)

Applicants

must meet all

of the following:

Master's degree

(M.Sc / M.Tech / ME) in

GIS / Remote Sensing / Geomatics / Geography / Earth Science / Environmental / CS with Geospatial focus

At least 1 publication

in GIS/RS/GeoAI/Spatial analysis in a

valid journal or conference

(DOI/URL required) Accepted: peer-reviewed journals, Scopus/WoS indexed, recognized national journals, reputed conferences with proceedings Proven ability to

read research papers and convert them into reproducible workflows

(not just theory) Comfortable working in a

multi-task, research-driven environment

What You'll Do (360 Responsibilities)

Research & Publications (Core)

Convert real-world GIS/RS problems into

publishable research

Support

method design, experiments, accuracy assessment

, and results interpretation

Contribute to

paper writing + submission

and maintain reproducible workflows

Training & Mentorship

Deliver sessions on

ArcGIS/QGIS/RS/Spatial Analysis/Python/PostGIS

(based on strength)

Mentor learners with a

research mindset

(problem ? method ? validation)

Support

webinars/seminars

and training excellence

Applied Projects (Client + Internal)

Work across

Urban GIS, Forest/Environment, Utilities, BIM/CAD?GIS, Digital Twin

projects

Development, Automation & GeoAI (based on skill)

Support

GeoServer, PostGIS, APIs, dashboards

Build automation using

Python/ArcPy/PyQGIS/ModelBuilder/QGIS Models

Apply

GeoAI/ML basics

where relevant with measurable experiments

Required Skills (Must-have)

Strong fundamentals:

CRS/projections, topology, spatial analysis, raster concepts, QA/QC

Strong expertise in at least one:

ArcGIS Pro / ArcGIS Desktop (advanced)

OR

QGIS (advanced)

Remote sensing:

indices, classification basics, accuracy assessment, time-series concepts

Scientific skills:

literature review, research framing, methodology writing, results discussion

Strong communication: can

teach, explain, and document

clearly

Preferred Skills (Big advantage)

Python

(GeoPandas/Rasterio/Shapely/NumPy) or

ArcPy

PostgreSQL/PostGIS

GeoServer

, web maps, dashboards

Git / reproducible science practices

Google Earth Engine

(nice-to-have) ML basics (scikit-learn, spatial feature engineering)

1-2 paper submissions

(or one strong journal submission) with proper experiments and writing Independently own a mini theme (examples:

Urban Heat + RS
