Job Overview:

Global Functions Technology (GFT) delivers innovative technology solutions and key global platforms for Citi's Global Functions division. These solutions enable Citi to comply with regulatory mandates and empower our businesses to achieve their goals, both current and long-term. Our products and initiatives adhere to Citi's strategic architecture and support the end-to-end integration of multiple global functions within the bank including Finance, Risk, and Controls.

The GFT Finance Accounting Program is a multiyear initiative which will evolve Citi's Accounting landscape, consolidating disparate flows into a Central Platform, evolving our Finance ecosystem. The program spans the entire of the Citi organization with stakeholders in Finance, Operations, Technology and the Chief Data Office.

The Sr. Business Analyst is responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team along with leading team of business analysts. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise. Involved in short-term planning resource planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all technology components of diverse, moderately complex IT projects, including project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality and cost.
  • Utilizes expertise and leadership skills to resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met.
  • Communicates with end-users to provide timely and accurate information and status updates.
  • In-depth analysis on project financials and various other financial decks.
  • Applies in-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area.
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • In depth knowledge on performing Business Analysis
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Highly proficient in MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
  • Proven ability of using complex analytical, interpretive and problem-solving techniques, to synthesize and present complex information to stakeholders of various levels.
  • Stakeholder management across multiple geographies and functions, as well as demonstrated ability to build a strong collaborative relationship that culminate in a delivery track record.
  • Experience of Accounting and/or Ledger implementations and Corporate Finance organization and ideally experience of working on a Finance transformation program.
  • Knowledge of retail and/or investment banking products and lifecycle preferred.
  • You should have a strong sense of financial soundness and demonstrate a reasonable understanding of budgeting, forecasting and expense management.
  • You should have experience building and managing diverse, inclusive, high performing teams and keep them engaged and motivated. Analyze business client needs, document requirements and new technology, and derive test cases
  • Prepare reports, metrics and presentations and exchange ideas/information in a concise and logical manner
Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of experience
  • Experience in data analysis with intermediate/advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Proven analytical, data analysis, organization and presentation skills
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team with understanding of how collaboration accomplishes objectives
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
