Main Goal

Managing Germination lab activities & team. Lab resource & people management. Oversee all the seed testing in the germination laboratory including useable transplant test.

Job description

• Management of Germination Lab Activities: Give direction to the local germination lab team
• Ensure timely delivery of QC results to inventory management team
• Responsible for people management and resource management in the laboratory
• Manage all technical aspects of standard seed testing methods used to assess seed quality including: germination, viability, vigor, physical purity, and moisture tests.
• Special projects such as seed quality studies and customer-specified experiments
• Implementation and validation of new tests and process improvement through continuous improvement
• Provide technical expertise, oversee all testing within the lab as well as manage budget and staff
• Provide technical support for the lab services, meet with customers and develop plans to meet their specific needs.
• Activities weekly/monthly reporting to the QC Manager India

Profile

Graduate/Postgraduate in Seed Science & tech/Botany/agriculture Education required. MSc/BSc -Seed Tech/Botany/Agriculture

• Experience required Experience in Seed testing activities (in Lab), Seed Health, team handling in lab. Min 2 Years of experience

Required Competencies :

• Comprehensive knowledge of ISTA rules regarding quality control testing for germination, vigor, physical purity, and other standard seed testing needs in the seed industry
• Comprehensive knowledge of ISHI rules regarding quality control testing for Seed health.
• Indian Minimum Seed Certification Standards
• Knowledge of vegetable seed production
• Perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, power point, Word and Excel Experience of team handling is preferable
