- MD Physician

Position Title: Consultant Physician (MD)

Department: General Medicine

Reporting To: Medical Director / Hospital Administrator

Location: Yelahanka, Bangalore

Hospital Size: 55-bedded hospital with ICU and general wards

Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care

o Provide comprehensive medical care for inpatients (ward and ICU) and outpatients.

o Conduct detailed patient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

o Manage critically ill patients in ICU in coordination with intensivists and critical care nurses.

o Perform daily ward rounds; ensure timely patient review and progress documentation.

o Supervise admission, discharge, and patient transfers with complete documentation.

Outpatient Services

o Attend daily OPD from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and provide quality consultation to walk-in and referred patients.

o Guide follow-up care and preventive advice to patients.

Emergency Care

o Respond promptly to medical emergencies in ER, wards, and ICU.

o Provide emergency medical management and coordinate with surgical/ICU teams when required.

Coordination & Consultation

o Liaise with other consultants and specialists for cross-consultations.

o Coordinate with duty doctors, nursing staff, and paramedical teams for seamless patient care delivery.

o Participate in multidisciplinary discussions and care planning.

Administrative & Quality Compliance

o Ensure accurate and timely documentation in patient case sheets and EMR.

o Assist hospital management in NABH and other quality compliance tasks.

o Adhere to infection control, biomedical waste management, and patient safety protocols.

Teaching & Training

o Guide and supervise duty medical officers, interns, and nursing staff.

o Conduct CMEs, case discussions, and training sessions for junior staff as needed.

Other Responsibilities

o Attend departmental meetings and contribute to clinical protocols and policies.

o Uphold high ethical and professional standards.

o Be available on call as per roster for night and weekend duties.

Required Qualifications

o MBBS + MD (General Medicine) from a recognized university.

o Valid Karnataka Medical Council registration.

o 2-5 years of post-MD experience preferred, including ICU care.

Skills & Attributes

o Strong clinical and diagnostic abilities.

o Confident in managing ICU and high-dependency patients.

o Good communication and patient counselling skills.

o Team leadership and coordination skills.

o Familiarity with NABH protocols is desirable.

Working Hours

OPD: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM (Monday to Saturday)

Inpatient rounds as per requirement.

On-call and emergency duty as per roster.
