General Paralegal
Location: Ernakulam, Kerala
Salary: 30,000/- Per Month
Degree or Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Law preferred Experience Required:

• 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in a legal or paralegal role preferred

• Fresh graduates with strong legal knowledge and a willingness to learn will also be considered

Language Skills:

• Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential

• Must be able to communicate confidently and clearly in a neutral or strong British accent

• Ability to draft legal documents, liaise with clients, and present information professionally

• Must possess a high level of grammar accuracy, clarity in speech, and tone suited for client-facing communication.

• Reporting to the Line Manager, the General Paralegal will undergo comprehensive training and development across various facets of the legal practice. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Answering incoming calls and taking detailed messages.

• Making outbound calls to clients and other stakeholders as necessary.

• Efficiently utilizing client management software for case management.

• Performing general office tasks such as email correspondence, document scanning, filing, and providing information to clients.

• Providing typing, audio typing, or transcription services.

• Scheduling and managing client appointments, maintaining diaries, and organizing key dates.

• Recording client interactions, visitor logs, and attendance logs.

• Compiling data and preparing reports on a weekly or monthly basis.

• Welcoming clients and guests in a professional and friendly manner.

• Handling reception duties including hospitality and offering refreshments.

• Supporting Partners and Senior Management with PA duties as required.

• Assisting fee earners in managing client matters, including drafting legal documents and applications.

• Conducting client meetings and taking instructions for case preparation.

• Managing correspondence and assisting with billing and administrative tasks.

• Developing and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and clients.

• Independently managing a caseload to meet individual and team targets.

• Liaising effectively with clients and third parties.

• Completing file opening and closing procedures accurately.

• Conducting initial client ID checks and managing client correspondence.

• Collaborating closely with Solicitors to handle new enquiries and explore business development opportunities.

• Responding promptly to new enquiries via phone and email, maintaining detailed records.

• Supporting social media content and coverage initiatives.

• Working effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.

• Demonstrating meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.

• Articulating effectively and building rapport with clients.

• Utilizing case management software proficiently.

• Conducting legal research and preparing documentation as required.

• Maintaining a detailed diary of appointments, document receipts, and transaction milestones.

• Undertaking any other duties as assigned, consistent with the position's level.

• Ensuring tidiness of reception areas and meeting rooms, including light cleaning duties when necessary.

Targets and Objectives:
The role includes specific targets and objectives tailored to academic qualifications and career progression.
Drafting a monthly Website Blog Post on a legal topic.
Conducting legal research as needed.
Trial preparation, including bundling according to Court guidelines.
Drafting legal documents such as Claim Forms, Witness Statements, and Applications.
Preparing submissions for First Tier Tribunal cases, including social welfare matters.
Training Plan:
The role offers a structured training plan, subject to performance and career progression:
Step 1: Initial administrative work, learning firm protocols and systems.
Step 2: Handling incoming and outgoing calls.
Step 3: Quoting and onboarding new business enquiries, following up on instructions.
Step 4: File opening procedures in compliance with SRA guidelines.
Step 5: File closure procedures as per SRA guidelines.
Step 6: Progression towards becoming a qualified Solicitor or Barrister, undertaking general paralegal duties and responsibilities
