Job description

:

Lead and manage welding operations in the heavy fabrication shop floor.

Develop, implement, and maintain welding procedures (WPS, PQR, WPQ) as per industry codes (ASME, AWS, ISO).

Supervise and guide welding engineers, supervisors, and welders to achieve production targets.

Ensure compliance with welding quality standards, NDT, and inspection requirements.

Coordinate with QA/QC, design, and production teams to resolve welding-related technical issues.

Monitor consumable usage, welding equipment, and ensure proper maintenance and calibration.

Conduct welder qualification tests and maintain skill matrices.

Train and mentor welders in advanced welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, MIG/MAG, GTAW, SAW, etc.).

Drive continuous improvement for productivity, cost reduction, and process optimization.

Ensure strict adherence to safety practices and statutory requirements in welding areas.

Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on welding performance, productivity, and quality.

Support in audits (customer / third party / ISO / statutory) related to welding and fabrication.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong technical knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW, MIG/MAG).

Expertise in welding codes and standards (ASME Sec IX, AWS D1.1, ISO, IBR).

Familiar with NDT methods (RT, UT, PT, MT) and interpretation of results.

Hands-on experience in heavy fabrication (structures, pressure vessels, piping, equipment).

Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.

Problem-solving and root cause analysis in welding and fabrication.

Knowledge of welding metallurgy, heat treatment, and distortion control

Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
