Job Summary:
The General Manager (GM) will be responsible for overseeing the entire sales function, business development, and daily operations of the company. The GM will play a crucial role in formulating strategies, improving organizational performance, managing the team, and achieving business targets. This role requires a strategic leader with deep industry knowledge and proven management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
Develop and execute robust sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
Explore new business opportunities and build strong customer relationships.
Oversee key account management and guide the sales team in achieving monthly and quarterly goals.
Operational Management:
Supervise daily operations, including inventory, logistics, order fulfillment, and procurement.
Ensure timely supply chain and stock movement to support customer demand.
Streamline processes for improved productivity and cost efficiency.
Team Leadership:
Lead, train, and motivate the sales, delivery, and admin teams.
Set performance benchmarks and conduct regular reviews.
Build a positive and accountable work culture.
Market Strategy & Analysis:
Analyze market trends, competition, and customer behavior to inform business decisions.
Drive product positioning, pricing, and promotional strategies.
Plan and execute marketing campaigns and seasonal promotions.
Finance & Reporting:
Monitor budgets, pricing strategies, margins, and overall profitability.
Prepare performance reports and present insights to the management/owners.
Ensure cost controls and operational efficiency across departments.
Compliance & Quality:
Ensure adherence to food safety regulations, licensing, and quality standards.
Maintain documentation and audit readiness for all business functions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management. MBA preferred.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in FMCG/grocery distribution with at least 1 years in a senior managerial role.
Proven track record of achieving sales growth and operational efficiency.
Skills:
Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
In-depth knowledge of the grocery/FMCG supply chain.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
Proficient in MS Office, ERP/Inventory Management systems, and CRM tools.
