The General Manager - Logistics & Sales oversees transportation and distribution operations
while leading sales functions to expand business opportunities. The role focuses on
optimizing logistics performance, building client relationships, and driving revenue growth
through service excellence and strategic sales initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Logistics Operations Management
Oversee transportation, dispatch, and distribution activities.
Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely service.
Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and transport partners.
Monitor fleet performance, transit schedules, and delivery accuracy.
Ensure compliance with transportation laws, permits, and documentation.
2. Supply Chain Coordination
Collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance teams.
Manage logistics without dependency on warehousing (if applicable).
Oversee import/export logistics, customs, and freight processes.
3. Sales & Business Development
Identify new business opportunities and client segments.
Develop and execute sales strategies to increase revenue.
Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and service agreements.
Maintain strong client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service terms.
4. Client & Vendor Management
Act as the key point of contact for major clients.
Manage third-party logistics partners and service providers.
Track service performance and ensure adherence to SLAs.
5. Budgeting & Cost Optimization
Develop and manage budgets for logistics and sales functions.
Control expenses related to transportation and client servicing.
Implement cost-saving initiatives and performance tracking.
6. Team Leadership
Lead and mentor logistics coordinators and sales teams.
Set KPIs and review performance regularly.
Conduct training to enhance service and sales capabilities.
7. Reporting & Strategy
Provide regular MIS reports to management.
Monitor KPIs such as sales growth, freight cost, on-time delivery, and client retention.
Contribute to strategic planning for logistics expansion and market development.
Required Skills:
1-2 years of proven experience in logistics sales.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Goal-oriented and self-motivated individual.
Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
Ability to manage multiple client interactions efficiently.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)
