Job Description

Overview

Lead the quality assurance function in a modern grey and ductile iron foundry specializing in precision castings for global sectors such as automotive, hydraulics, and power generation.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System

: Lead the implementation and maintenance of the QMS in line with ISO 9001 and future IATF standards.

Inspection Oversight

: Supervise inspection of raw materials, in-process, and final castings, including dimensional checks, mechanical testing, and NDT (X
ray, ultrasonic, dye penetrant).

CAPA & RCA

: Drive root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action programs to reduce scrap and customer complaints.

Metrics & Reporting

: Monitor quality KPIs, produce management reports, and present findings to leadership and customer auditors.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

: Work with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot process issues and improve yield and consistency.

Training & Development

: Mentor QC inspectors and production staff in quality methods, inspection protocols, and audit readiness.

Continuous Improvement

: Lead Lean or Six Sigma-based improvement projects aimed at reducing defects and COPQ.

Supplier & Customer Quality

: Conduct supplier audits, support PPAP submissions, and handle customer feedback/resolution.

Audit Preparedness

: Coordinate internal and external quality audits, documentation compliance and certification processes. Manage lab equipment including

spectrometer

for chemical analysis Oversee

mechanical and metallurgical lab testing

(hardness, microstructure, etc.)

Qualifications :

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Industrial Engineering 8 to 12 years of quality experience in a CI / SG iron foundry Good knowledge of casting inspection, defect analysis, and quality tools Experience in handling spectrometer and lab testing (chemical, mechanical, metallurgical) Familiar with NDT methods (UT, DP, X-ray) and quality documents (PPAP, FMEA, etc.) Able to lead a quality team and coordinate with production, customer, and suppliers Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF systems is preferred Good communication and problem-solving skills

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
