Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and seasoned General Manager - Production to oversee our garment manufacturing unit and lead the full spectrum of production activities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in driving efficiency, quality, timely deliveries, and innovation on the shop floor while managing a large workforce in a fast-paced export environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Control

Lead daily operations of garment manufacturing across units, ensuring productivity, quality, and on-time delivery. Develop and execute robust production plans aligned with business goals. Monitor workflow, WIP levels, capacity utilization, and line balancing to meet delivery commitments.
Operational Efficiency & Quality

Ensure adherence to buyer-specific quality standards and compliance requirements. Implement lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. Analyze production KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and initiate corrective actions. Drive automation and digital production systems for enhanced efficiency.
Team Leadership & Coordination

Lead, mentor, and motivate production managers, line supervisors, and floor teams. Coordinate cross-functionally with merchandising, planning, IE, QA, and maintenance teams. Ensure worker discipline, morale, safety, and welfare in collaboration with HR.
Cost & Resource Optimization

Control production costs through efficient resource allocation and waste minimization. Recommend and implement process changes to reduce turnaround time and improve margins. Ensure optimal use of fabric, trims, machinery, and labor.
Required Skills & Qualifications

B.Tech / B.E. or equivalent degree in Textile Engineering, Garment Technology, or equivalent. 15+ years in garment manufacturing units of repute with at least 5 years in a senior production leadership role. Strong understanding of woven and knits manufacturing, production planning, and industrial engineering. Experience in handling large teams and multiple production units (1000+ workforce). Proficient in ERP systems and production tracking tools. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and people management skills.

Salary (CTC)

Up to ?30 lakhs per annum, based on skills and experience.

For exceptionally bright candidates, salary will not be a constraint.
