to head the Human Resources function of our manufacturing organization. The role involves building a high-performance culture, ensuring statutory compliance, developing people-centric policies, and strengthening workforce engagement.
The GM - HR will play a strategic role in
legal compliance, manpower planning, labour contractor management, performance systems, employee training, and HR process automation
.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR & Leadership
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business growth and manufacturing operations.
Drive cultural transformation, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.
Partner with senior management to align HR practices with long-term organizational goals.
Compliance & Legal Management
Ensure
100% compliance
with all labour laws, including Factories Act, ESI, PF, Bonus, Gratuity, and other statutory obligations.
Liaise with
labour authorities, statutory auditors, and Pollution Control Board
for inspections, licensing, and approvals.
Handle labour disputes, grievances, and conflict resolution effectively.
Workforce & Labour Relations
Manage
labour contractors
with strict adherence to legal requirements.
Optimize
manpower deployment and cost management
.
Ensure cordial industrial relations and a disciplined workplace environment.
Performance & Productivity Management
Establish and monitor
KPI/KRA frameworks
across all functions.
Conduct
regular KPI/KRA reviews
to measure performance and drive accountability.
Introduce and implement
new systems/processes for productivity improvement
.
Support automation and digitization of HR processes to enhance efficiency.
Employee Training & Development
Design and roll out
training programs
for all levels of employees:
Technical skills training for shop-floor workers.
Leadership & behavioral training for managers.
Compliance and safety training as per statutory norms.
Implement
continuous learning and upskilling programs
to build internal talent pipelines.
Employee Engagement & Team Building
Organize
team bonding initiatives, employee welfare programs, and recognition platforms
.
Foster a collaborative work environment with open communication channels.
Drive initiatives to improve employee morale, reduce attrition, and enhance job satisfaction.
Shift & Discipline Management
Ensure effective
work-shift time management
and attendance tracking.
Monitor workplace
discipline, punctuality, and adherence to organizational policies
.
Strengthen time-office systems with clear SOPs and compliance.
HR Operations & HRMS Implementation
Oversee payroll, attendance, and leave management through HRMS.
Ensure
100% HRMS compliance
with accurate data reporting and record-keeping.
Regularly audit HRMS entries for payroll accuracy, statutory deductions, and workforce analytics.
Qualifications & Experience
MBA/MSW in HR or related field.
15-20 years of HR experience
, with at least 8-10 years in a senior role within the
manufacturing sector
.
Expertise in
labour law compliance, statutory audits, industrial relations, and manpower planning
.
Proven record of
KPI/KRA system implementation and monitoring
.
Hands-on experience in
HRMS, payroll, and digital HR systems
.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and people management skills.
