The General Manager will be responsible for the overall administration, operations, and strategic execution of the association's objectives. The role involves managing day-to-day activities, representing the association in front of government bodies and industry stakeholders, driving membership engagement, and ensuring smooth implementation of programs, events, and policy advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Administration
Manage overall operations of the association in line with its vision and mission.
Ensure effective coordination between the Executive Committee, office staff, and members.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems for smooth functioning.
Membership Management
Drive membership growth and retention.
Maintain strong relationships with members and address their concerns.
Ensure timely collection of membership fees and maintain updated membership records.
Government & Stakeholder Liaison
Represent the association in front of government departments, regulatory authorities, and industry bodies.
Coordinate policy advocacy, draft representations, and pursue approvals/clarifications.
Build strong relationships with ministries, regulators, and allied associations.
Finance & Compliance
Prepare annual budgets, manage association funds, and oversee financial controls.
Ensure statutory compliance (Society/Association Act, GST, Income Tax, ROC, etc.).
Work closely with auditors and legal advisors for timely filing and reporting.
Event & Program Management
Plan and execute industry events, conferences, workshops, and seminars.
Coordinate with sponsors, partners, and stakeholders for successful program delivery.
Drive visibility of the association through events, PR, and digital platforms.
Communication & Reporting
Draft official communication, press releases, newsletters, and reports.
Maintain transparency through regular reporting to the Executive Committee.
Strengthen digital presence via website, social media, and publications.
Team & Office Management
Supervise and guide office staff for efficiency and accountability.
Foster a collaborative, professional, and member-oriented work culture.
Ensure timely performance evaluation and capacity building of the team.
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate/Postgraduate in Management / Commerce / Law / Public Administration / Engineering.
10+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in senior management, preferably in industry associations, chambers of commerce, NGOs, or corporate sector.
Proven experience in policy advocacy, administration, and stakeholder management.
Strong knowledge of statutory compliance and financial management.
Skills Required
Excellent communication and drafting skills (English & Hindi).

Proficiency in MS Office, digital tools, and social media.
