General Manager - Finance & Strategy (GM - Finance)
Role Overview
The General Manager - Finance will be a key strategic partner to leadership, responsible for
financial planning, investment readiness, funding strategy, and long-term financial governance
of the organisation. The role focuses on
project finance, financial modelling, bank and investor engagement, and capital structuring
, while ensuring that accounting, compliance, and controls remain robust and audit-ready.
This is a
senior finance leadership role
, not a routine accounting position.
Key Responsibilities
The GM - Finance will lead the preparation of
end-to-end financial models from scratch
for new projects, expansions, and business verticals. This includes building integrated models covering revenue assumptions, cost structures, working capital cycles, CAPEX, funding mix, debt servicing, cash flows, IRR, NPV, break-even, and sensitivity analysis.
The role involves
creating professional investment pitches and financial decks
for banks, financial institutions, investors, and internal stakeholders. The incumbent will translate business plans into
bankable financial proposals
, including DPRs, CMA data, project reports, and funding justifications.
The GM - Finance will manage
banking relationships and project finance
, including term loans, working capital facilities, LC/BG structures, renewals, restructuring, and covenant compliance. The role includes negotiating interest rates, structuring repayment schedules, optimising debt-equity mix, and monitoring fund utilisation.
A key responsibility is
capital structuring and equity management
, including equity infusion planning, share capital accounting, valuation support, return projections, and alignment of funding strategy with business growth objectives.
The role will lead
budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
, ensuring alignment between operational plans and financial outcomes. This includes scenario planning, stress testing, and advising management on financial risks and opportunities.
The GM - Finance will oversee statutory compliance, audits, and accounting governance to ensure financial integrity. While transactional accounting is managed by the accounts team, the GM ensures
accuracy, controls, timelines, and compliance readiness
across GST, income tax, TDS, and statutory audits.
The role also includes
financial governance and internal controls
, strengthening SOPs, approval matrices, delegation of authority, and compliance frameworks suitable for a growing, multi-business organisation.
The GM - Finance will act as a
single point of contact for auditors, banks, consultants, and advisors
, supporting due diligence, audits, and financial reviews with confidence and credibility.

Required Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be a
senior finance professional
with strong exposure to
project finance, financial modelling, bank funding, and investment presentations
. A B.Com with M.Com / CA / ICWA / CMA is preferred.
The candidate should have
15-30 years of progressive experience
, with a proven track record in building financial models, preparing bank proposals, handling funding discussions, and supporting investment decisions. Exposure to manufacturing, infrastructure, real estate, or capital-intensive businesses will be an advantage.
Strong understanding of accounting standards, taxation, banking operations, loan structures, and financial reporting is essential, along with the ability to connect financial outcomes to business strategy.
Proficiency in Excel (advanced financial modelling), Tally / ERP systems, and financial presentation tools is required.
