Position: General Manager (GM)
Reports to: Managing Director / Board of Directors
Role Overview :-
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary General Manager to lead our Guar Gum & Derivatives business through its next phase of exponential growth. The GM will be responsible for steering the company from people-driven operations to process-driven excellence, embedding global best practices, and building a world-class work culture that balances high performance with employee engagement.
The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in large-scale manufacturing, process automation, supply chain management, global B2B sales, and cultural transformation, with the ability to scale an organization rapidly while maintaining profitability, compliance, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Drive the organization towards the 5,000 Cr revenue goal within 3 years, ensuring sustainable growth across domestic and international markets.
- Translate the company's vision, mission, and values into actionable strategies and measurable results.
- Identify new growth areas in value-added derivatives, specialty applications, and global markets.
2. Operational Excellence
- Transform the organization from people-oriented decision making to structured, process-oriented systems with robust SOPs and KPIs.
- Champion adoption of Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and Industry 4.0 practices for efficiency, cost control, and quality consistency.
- Oversee production, procurement, logistics, R&D, and quality control to ensure world-class standards.
3. Financial & Commercial Management
- Deliver top-line growth with profitability, cash flow discipline, and working capital efficiency.
- Strengthen relationships with global buyers, distributors, and institutional clients.
- Ensure risk management, hedging, and compliance in global commodity markets.
4. People & Culture
- Build a high-performance leadership team with clear succession plans.
- Shift culture from founder-driven and people-dependent to professional, process-led, and collaborative.
- Foster an environment of ownership, accountability, and innovation while ensuring employee well-being and growth.
- Implement best-in-class HR practices, learning & development programs, and employee engagement frameworks.
5. Governance & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with FSSAI, US FDA, EU, ISO, HACCP, and other global regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain the highest standards of corporate governance, ethics, and transparency.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Proven track record of leading large-scale manufacturing organizations (1,000+ Cr turnover, ideally in food ingredients, agro-processing, or allied sectors).
- Strong experience in scaling businesses, capacity expansions, and international markets.
- Deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, process engineering, and operational efficiency.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people-management skills to drive cultural transformation.
- Commercial acumen with strong grasp of P&L, balance sheet, financial ratios, and ROI metrics.
- Ability to balance strategy and execution with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Engineering / Food Technology / Chemical Engineering / Business Management.
- MBA / Post-Graduate in Operations, Supply Chain, or Strategy preferred.
- 15-20+ years of leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a General Management / P&L leadership role in a large-scale manufacturing company.
Performance Metrics
- Revenue growth from 1,200 Cr to 5,000 Cr in 3 years.
- Reduction in cost of production and improvement in EBITDA margins.
- Process adherence rate and automation adoption.
- Employee engagement, retention, and leadership pipeline development.
- Market share expansion in key domestic and international markets.
Compensation & Growth
