Position Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned and result-oriented

General Manager cum Production Head

to lead the

establishment and end-to-end operations of a new garment division

. The selected candidate will be responsible for setting up the manufacturing facility, leading the production function, and driving the business unit's operational and financial success.

This role combines strategic planning with hands-on leadership, requiring a deep understanding of garment manufacturing, cost management, team development, and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Unit Establishment

Lead the project to set up a new garment production unit from scratch, including infrastructure, utilities, machinery, manpower, and systems. Prepare and execute the roadmap for factory layout, equipment procurement, and technology integration. Ensure all statutory, compliance, environmental, and safety norms are met during setup.

2. Production & Operations Management

Oversee the entire production process, from raw material sourcing to final shipment. Ensure on-time, cost-effective, and quality production to meet customer and market demands. Implement lean manufacturing principles and industry best practices to improve efficiency and productivity.

3. Strategic Business Management

Create and execute annual business plans aligned with the organization's growth strategy. Drive the unit towards profitability through effective cost control, resource management, and continuous improvement. Identify opportunities for innovation, automation, and process optimization.

4. Team Development & Leadership

Build a capable workforce across production, quality, maintenance, HR, and admin functions. Develop and mentor middle management and production teams for performance and growth. Foster a performance-oriented and collaborative culture within the unit.

5. Quality & Compliance

Establish stringent quality systems to ensure product consistency and compliance with buyer and industry standards. Manage compliance for audits, certifications (e.g., ISO, WRAP, SEDEX), and customer-specific requirements.

6. Supply Chain & Vendor Management

Work with procurement teams to establish a reliable supply chain for raw materials, trims, and accessories. Build strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.

7. Reporting & Coordination

Generate regular performance reports on production, quality, costs, and efficiency. Liaise with corporate leadership, merchandising, sales, and finance teams to align unit operations with overall business goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

Degree/Diploma in Garment Technology, Textile Engineering, Production Management, or related field. MBA preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 12-18 years in the garment industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role handling production and operations. Experience in setting up a garment unit is a strong advantage.

Technical Expertise:

Hands-on experience in woven/knit garment manufacturing, industrial engineering, lean practices, ERP systems, and quality frameworks.
