We are looking for a

Gemstone Manufacturing Manager

to lead end-to-end gemstone production, including cutting, polishing, grading, and calibration. The ideal candidate will improve yield, reduce rejection, enhance workflow efficiency, and ensure high-quality output aligned with business goals. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, deep gemstone expertise, and strong leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee complete gemstone production: cutting, polishing, grading, calibration, and quality control. Improve yield, recovery %, and minimize cut loss through process optimization. Drive system improvements, quality standards, and cost-efficient workflows. Ensure compliance with industry and VGL quality guidelines. Coordinate closely with buying, inventory, merchandising, and design teams. Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate effectively. Monitor production schedules, inventory levels, and maintain accurate records. Train and supervise production staff to improve skills and productivity. Identify and resolve production issues quickly to reduce downtime. Align manufacturing decisions with final retail profitability and market needs.

Required Expertise & Skills

Strong knowledge of gemstone types, treatments, origins, and processing techniques. Expertise in grading, calibration, cut-loss, recovery %, and quality parameters. Leadership and team management ability with a problem-solving mindset. Understanding of production planning, cost optimization, and inventory management. Strong communication and decision-making skills. Experience in vendor markets (India/Thailand/Africa/China preferred). You think in ROI, quality, speed, and business impact. You take ownership and drive change proactively. You treat every rupee as if it's your own.
