Position:

Gear Hobbing Operator

Location:

Qatar

Job Purpose:

To operate, set up, and maintain

manual gear hobbing machines

to produce gears with high accuracy and quality, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate

manual gear hobbing machines

for gear production. Select appropriate

cutting tools, speeds, and feeds

based on gear type and material. Monitor machining operations and make real-time adjustments to maintain required tolerances. Inspect finished gears using

micrometers, calipers, gear tooth gauges

, and other precision instruments. Verify gears meet specifications such as

pitch, tooth profile, diameter, and surface finish

. Perform

routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor adjustments

on gear hobbing machines. Manufacture

fly tools

as needed for specific machining operations. Operate

manual milling machines

for machining tasks related to gear preparation and finishing. Read and interpret

technical drawings, gear charts, and manufacturing specifications

. Ensure adherence to

safety protocols

and proper use of tools and equipment.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Proven experience as a

Gear Hobbing Operator

(manual machine experience required). Strong knowledge of gear manufacturing and machining processes. Ability to read and understand

engineering drawings and gear specifications

. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, vernier calipers, and gauges. Hands-on experience with

manual milling machines

. Ability to fabricate

fly tools

independently. Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and meet production timelines.

Preferred:

Experience in a

manufacturing or machine shop environment

. Knowledge of different gear types and machining methods.
