Job Description

Key Responsibilities




Assist in planning and executing the migration of data workloads from OCI to GCP.


Analyze existing OCI services and recommend equivalent or improved GCP solutions to optimize cost and performance.


Develop and maintain data pipelines and architectures using GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub.


Implement automation and infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform, Deployment Manager, or Cloud Build.


Collaborate with architects, tech leads, and DevOps teams to ensure smooth migration and integration.


Monitor GCP resource usage and implement cost-saving measures.


Ensure data security, governance, and compliance throughout the migration process.


Document technical processes, configurations, and migration playbooks.





Required Qualifications




Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.


4 to 6 years of experience in cloud engineering or data platform development.


Hands-on experience with OCI and GCP, including data migration projects.


Strong understanding of GCP data services and architecture patterns.


Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, Terraform).


Familiarity with cloud cost optimization strategies and tools.


Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.





Preferred Qualifications




Google Cloud Certified Associate or Professional Data Engineer.


Experience with Oracle databases and their migration to GCP equivalents.


Exposure to FinOps practices and cloud cost management platforms.


Understanding of hybrid cloud and multi-cloud strategies.
