GC Operator - Quality Control (Cosmetics Industry)

Job Overview:
The GC Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining the
Gas Chromatography (GC)
system to test and analyze raw materials, intermediates, and finished cosmetic products. The role ensures all analytical results meet the company's quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, calibrate, and maintain
Gas Chromatography (GC)
instruments (with FID, ECD, or MS detectors).
Conduct routine and non-routine
analytical testing
of raw materials, packaging materials, in-process samples, and finished goods.
Prepare and standardize reagents, solvents, and reference standards.
Record and interpret chromatograms accurately in line with
SOPs and GMP
requirements.
Ensure
documentation
in laboratory notebooks, logbooks, and reports as per company standards.
Identify and troubleshoot minor instrument issues; escalate major problems to the QC Manager or vendor.

Follow
Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
Support in internal and external audits (ISO, FDA, etc.).
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience operating GC in a
cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or FMCG
QC lab.
Technical Skills:
Hands-on experience with
GC
(Agilent, Shimadzu, or similar models).
Understanding of
GMP / GLP
standards.
Basic knowledge of
analytical techniques
(HPLC, UV, IR preferred).
Soft Skills:
Attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and teamwork.
