Background

The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs. Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organisations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.

About Project

Hans Gaushala, an initiative of The Hans Foundation, certified in February 2023, is dedicated to the care and welfare of injured and abandoned cattle.
We rescue and adopt cows in need, provide them with timely medical treatment, proper nutrition, and safe shelter, and care for them until they regain good health. The Gaushala has a dedicated rescue area & rescue team, supported by a Veterinary Officer and VLDA, along with an animal ambulance and essential medical facilities to ensure prompt and humane care.
At Hans Gaushala, compassion guides every action, offering rescued cattle a safe space to heal and live with dignity.

Few points to reflect upon as you apply for this role:

The gaushala worker should be compassionate and caring towards animals. Must be willing to work as required, including emergencies and odd hours (24x7 support). Should be physically fit and able to perform daily duties such as cleaning, feeding, and handling cattle. Must follow instructions of gaushala management, veterinary staff, & Should be able to work independently as well as in a team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensure

timely feeding and proper care of cows

as per prescribed guidelines. Maintain the

cleanliness and hygiene

of the gaushala hall, sheds, and surrounding areas daily. Assist in

bathing, grooming, and overall upkeep

of cows to ensure their health and comfort. Support

veterinary staff (VLDA and Veterinary Officer)

during routine check-ups and treatment. Provide

basic first aid assistance

to injured or sick cows under the supervision of authorized veterinary personnel. Monitor cows regularly and

promptly report any signs of illness, injury, or abnormal behavior

to the concerned authority. Ensure proper handling of animals with

care, responsibility, and compassion

. Follow all

safety, hygiene, and animal welfare protocols

as prescribed by the gaushala management.

Other Indicative Requirements:

Educational Qualifications:

10th pass from a recognized board

Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other Requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)

Should be able to speak and understand Hindi and have basic knowledge of English.

Working days and Timings

Monday - Saturday Timings - 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM (the timing is subject to change*)
