Job Summary

The Garment Pattern Master is responsible for developing accurate garment patterns based on design specifications, ensuring proper fit, quality, and production efficiency. The role involves close coordination with designers, sampling teams, and production departments to translate designs into technically sound patterns suitable for mass production.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, draft, and modify garment patterns based on design sketches, specifications, and measurements Create base patterns, grading, and size sets for production Ensure proper fit, balance, and construction of garments Conduct fit trials and make pattern corrections based on sample fittings Prepare markers to minimize fabric wastage and improve cost efficiency Collaborate with designers, merchandisers, and production teams Interpret tech packs and design instructions accurately Maintain pattern records and documentation (manual or CAD) Ensure patterns comply with quality standards and buyer requirements Support sampling and pre-production processes Troubleshoot fitting or construction issues during production
Required Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of garment construction and fabric behavior Expertise in pattern making (manual and/or CAD systems such as Gerber, Lectra, Optitex, or TUKAtech) Understanding of grading techniques and size standards Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Good communication and teamwork abilities Time management and ability to meet deadlines
Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, or Pattern Making 3-5 years of experience as a Pattern Master (experience may vary by organization) Experience in woven/knitwear (as applicable)
Working Conditions

Garment manufacturing unit / export house May require long hours during sampling or production deadlines Regular interaction with sampling and production teams

Factory Manager / QAM / Sample technician / Merchandiser

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
