Position:

Furniture Painter

Job Purpose:

To prepare, paint, and finish wooden furniture and fixtures using various painting techniques, ensuring high-quality finishing and surface durability. The Furniture Painter is responsible for surface preparation, colour matching, coating application, and final finishing.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare wooden furniture surfaces by

sanding, filling, cleaning, and priming

. Mix paints, stains, and varnishes to achieve the required colour and finish. Apply

paint, polish, lacquer, PU coating, stain, and varnish

using brushes, spray guns, or rollers. Inspect surfaces for imperfections and perform necessary touch-ups or refinishing. Understand technical specifications and follow required finishing standards. Ensure smooth and even application of coats with no drips, patches, or bubbles. Maintain painting tools, spray guns, compressors, and other equipment in good working condition. Work with different furniture materials like

solid wood, MDF, veneer, laminates

, etc. Follow proper drying and curing procedures for coated surfaces. Coordinate with carpenters, supervisors, and project teams to meet production deadlines. Ensure safety practices while handling chemicals, paints, and finishing materials. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the painting area.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Proven experience as a

Furniture Painter

in a workshop or fit-out environment. Strong knowledge of painting techniques such as

PU Polish, Staining, Lacquering, Spray Painting, Varnishing

, etc. Skilled in operating spray guns, sanding machines, and other related tools. Ability to identify defects and perform corrective finishing. Good understanding of surface preparation and finishing materials. Eye for detail and ability to match colours and tones accurately. Capable of working independently and maintaining quality standards. Physically fit and able to perform repetitive tasks.

Preferred:

Experience in

high-end furniture finishing

or luxury interior projects. Knowledge of

NC, AC, PU, and water-based finishes

. Ability to handle both workshop and onsite finishing tasks
