Role Overview:

We are looking for a

highly skilled and experienced Metal Supervisor (Furniture & Fixtures)

to lead our metal production floor. The ideal candidate must come

strictly from the furniture and fixtures manufacturing industry

and possess

comprehensive technical knowledge

of

metal fabrication, welding, finishing, and machine operations

.

This is a

hands-on supervisory role

, responsible for ensuring production quality, timely output, machine maintenance, safety compliance, and coordination between the design, production, and execution teams.

Key Responsibilities:1. Production & Supervision

Oversee daily operations of the

metal furniture fabrication workshop

. Allocate work to fabricators, welders, and helpers as per production schedules. Ensure that all jobs are executed according to design drawings, tolerances, and finishing requirements. Supervise the fabrication of

metal frames, furniture components, decorative fixtures, and architectural elements

. Monitor output quality and productivity, implementing continuous improvements where needed.

2. Technical & Machine Operations

Expert in operating and supervising all

metal fabrication machines

, including:

Welding Machines:

MIG, TIG, ARC, Spot Welding, Argon, etc.

Cutting Machines:

Chop saws, Plasma cutters, CNC cutting machines.

Buffing & Finishing Machines:

Grinders, Polishers, Buffing wheels.

Drilling, Bending, and Rolling Machines.

Hands-on understanding of

jigs, fixtures, gauges, and alignment tools

used in furniture manufacturing. Ensure correct machine settings, tool calibration, and maintenance schedules.

3. Technical Knowledge & Software

Ability to read and interpret

technical drawings, fabrication sketches, and 3D models

. Basic working knowledge of

AutoCAD / SolidWorks / Sheet Metal Design software

(for understanding and supervising production accuracy). Coordinate with design engineers to resolve any technical issues or design modifications. Maintain production logs and quality checklists using Excel or digital formats.

4. Quality Control & Finishing

Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure product quality and finishing meet SPAR standards. Oversee surface treatment processes such as

powder coating, plating, and buffing

. Identify defects, suggest corrective actions, and ensure zero rework.

5. Safety & Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to

factory safety protocols and PPE usage

. Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment. Support management in implementing

ISO, HR, and safety compliance requirements

.

6. Team Leadership & Coordination

Supervise a team of

fabricators, welders, helpers, and polishers

. Train junior workers on machine handling and quality standards. Coordinate with

wood, upholstery, and finishing departments

for product integration. Maintain communication with purchase and store teams for raw material and consumables planning.

Candidate Requirements:

Education:

ITI / Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering preferred.

Experience:

Minimum

5-10 years

of hands-on and supervisory experience

exclusively in the furniture and fixtures industry (metal division)

.

Technical Skills:

Welding, cutting, buffing, and finishing operations Machine operation & maintenance Fabrication drawing reading Software: AutoCAD / SolidWorks (basic level) Excel & documentation for reporting and quality tracking

Soft Skills:

Leadership & team coordination Eye for detail and precision workmanship Strong communication & problem-solving ability Commitment to deadlines and safety
