: General Manager - Furniture Mall

Role Summary

The General Manager is the senior-most position responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational execution, financial performance (P&L), and long-term growth of the Furniture Mall. This role requires a visionary leader capable of managing a large-scale retail environment, driving high sales volumes, ensuring exceptional customer experience, and maintaining efficient, profitable operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Financial Management

P&L Ownership:

Take full ownership of the mall's Profit and Loss statement, including revenue generation, gross margin, operating expenses, and overall profitability targets.

Business Strategy:

Develop and execute a comprehensive annual business plan to achieve financial goals, market share growth, and brand recognition.

Budgeting:

Prepare, manage, and monitor the annual operating budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and strict cost control.

Performance Analysis:

Analyze sales data, market trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
2. Retail Operations & Merchandising

Operational Excellence:

Oversee all day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless processes in sales, logistics, inventory, and customer service departments.

Visual Merchandising:

Direct the Merchandising and Showroom teams to create visually impactful and sales-driven furniture displays across the mall.

Inventory & Logistics:

Supervise the Inventory and Supply Chain functions to ensure optimal stock levels, efficient warehousing, and timely, damage-free delivery and installation for customers.

Facility Management:

Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the entire mall facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and appealing environment for customers and staff.
3. Sales & Customer Experience

Sales Drive:

Lead the sales organization, setting ambitious sales goals, and implementing effective training and incentive programs to maximize team performance.

Customer Satisfaction:

Establish and enforce world-class customer service standards, actively resolving escalated complaints and leveraging feedback to drive continuous service improvement.

Pricing Strategy:

Develop and adjust pricing strategies, sales promotions, and liquidation plans in line with market demands and inventory levels.
4. People Management & Culture

Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing management team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professionalism.

Staffing:

Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management for all mall staff, ensuring adequate staffing to support business needs.

Compliance:

Ensure all Human Resources, Health & Safety, and local regulatory requirements are met across all mall activities.
Required Qualifications and Skills

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field. MBA or advanced certification is a plus.

Experience:

Minimum

8-10 years

of progressive management experience, with at least

3-5 years

in a General Manager, Director, or high-level P&L-owning role, preferably in large-scale retail, furniture, home goods, or a big-box environment.

Leadership:

Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage large, multi-functional teams.

Financial Acumen:

Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, inventory valuation, and retail metrics ($LTV$, $AOV$, UPT, etc.).

Communication:

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with staff, customers, vendors, and executive leadership.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
