Role Overview

We are looking for a

highly skilled Furniture Designer & Draughtsman

with strong exposure to

European furniture trends

, deep

technical knowledge of furniture engineering

, and hands-on expertise in

materials, joinery, and production drawings

.
The role demands a balance of

aesthetic sensitivity and manufacturing practicality

, ensuring designs are elegant, functional, and production-ready.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Concept Development

Research and develop furniture designs aligned with

latest European design trends

(Italian, German, Scandinavian, and contemporary European styles). Translate mood boards, references, and concepts into

original, production-feasible designs

. Design furniture for residential, hospitality, office, and bespoke luxury projects.

Technical Drawing & Detailing

Prepare

accurate 2D & 3D drawings

, including: Detailed shop drawings Exploded views Joinery details Hardware placement Create

manufacturing-ready drawings

for carpenters, CNC, polish, upholstery, and assembly teams. Ensure drawings meet

tolerance, structural strength, and ergonomic standards

.

Furniture Engineering & Materials

Possess in-depth knowledge of: Solid wood, veneer, plywood, MDF, particle board Natural stone, metal, glass, cane, leather, fabric, laminates Strong understanding of: Joinery systems Load-bearing structures Hardware (hinges, slides, connectors, fittings) Finishes (PU, polish, lacquer, oil, stain, veneer matching) Optimize designs for

cost, durability, and mass/batch production

Production Coordination

Coordinate closely with: Factory production teams CNC operators Vendors and material suppliers Resolve design or execution issues during production. Support prototype development and sample approvals.

Quality & Innovation

Ensure final output matches

design intent, quality benchmarks, and luxury standards

. Continuously upgrade design language and technical skills with evolving international trends and materials.

Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills

Proficiency in

AutoCAD

(mandatory) Working knowledge of

SketchUp / SolidWorks / Rhino / Fusion 360

(preferred) Ability to read and create

high-precision furniture drawings

Strong understanding of

manufacturing workflows

Design Skills

Strong sense of

proportion, detailing, and luxury aesthetics

Exposure to

European furniture styles and trends

Ability to adapt global designs to

Indian manufacturing conditions

Education

Degree / Diploma in: Furniture Design Interior Design Product Design Wood Technology Industrial Design
