Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled

Functional Validation Engineer

to perform system validation and verification activities for signalling and locomotive control systems. The role involves developing, executing, and automating validation tests using

NI TestStand

, performing

network and protocol analysis with Wireshark

, and ensuring functional compliance with domain-specific safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, develop, and execute

functional validation test cases

for signalling and locomotive subsystems. Develop and maintain

automated test sequences

using

NI TestStand

and associated test frameworks. Perform

signal and communication protocol validation

(Ethernet, MVB, CAN, etc.) using

Wireshark

and other diagnostic tools. Analyze test results, identify issues, and collaborate with design, software, and systems teams for root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Validate software updates, firmware revisions, and system integrations in lab or simulated environments. Ensure compliance with

railway standards

(e.g., EN 50128, EN 50129, SIL requirements). Document test procedures, validation reports, and traceability to requirements. Support integration testing and regression testing across various software baselines. * Participate in

hardware-in-the-loop (HIL)

or

software-in-the-loop (SIL)

test setups when applicable
