We are seeking an experienced

Shopify Developer with strong backend PHP skills

to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with key retail clients, particularly in

Shopify

platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining scalable Shopify stores, handling API integrations, and ensuring optimal performance across platforms.

You should have experience working on

backend development

Shopify Liquid

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, Customize, and Maintain Shopify Stores:

Build and customize scalable Shopify stores and themes,

ensuring optimal performance and user experience. Work with

Shopify's Liquid templating language

to create dynamic and interactive store features. Integrate Shopify APIs (Storefront API, Admin API) with third-party applications (e.g., payment gateways, CRMs, etc.). Backend Development:

Write server-side logic using PHP (Laravel, CodeIgniter)

to create dynamic and scalable web applications.

Integrate front-end elements with back-end applications

, ensuring a seamless user experience.

Develop and maintain custom plugins and extensions for Shopify

, enhancing functionality as required.

Integrate payment gateways for secure e-commerce transactions.

Ensure that the code is clean, reusable, and scalable, adhering to best practices.

API Development and Third-Party Integrations:

Develop and manage APIs for smooth data flow between applications, databases, and other web services.

Integrate third-party applications and services (payment gateways, CRMs, etc.) into Shopify stores to ensure full system functionality

Troubleshooting, Debugging, and Optimization:

Debug and troubleshoot issues in PHP and other application components to resolve issues efficiently. Perform ongoing maintenance to ensure that applications are up to date and optimized for performance across devices.

Collaboration and communication:

Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions, and same communicate the end result. Document code, features, and processes for transparency and ease of understanding by other developers and stakeholders. Creating SOP from start to finish and overseeing the process quality.

Continuous Improvement and Quality Assurance:

Adhere to development standards, ensuring code quality and performance through regular code reviews and testing. Create and maintain technical documentation detailing code functionalities, system specifications, and project progress. Monitor and enhance performance of live Shopify stores to ensure optimal operation and user experience.

Technical Skills Required:

Shopify-Specific:

Proficiency in Shopify theme development and customization using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

Experience with Shopify Plus, Storefront API, and Shopify Admin API. Knowledge of Shopify app development (public/private/custom apps) using Node.js or PHP. Understanding of Shopify multi-store management and performance optimization.

Backend Development:

Strong experience with PHP (Laravel, CodeIgniter) and Python (Django or Flask). Expertise in developing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services. Proficiency in database management and interactions (MySQL, PostgreSQL), with a working knowledge of MongoDB being a plus. Server-side security, cloud deployment, and database interactions.

Front-End Development:

Solid knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, and frameworks such as React.js or Vue.js (preferred). Experience with responsive design implementation and cross-browser compatibility. Technical Documentation and Best Practices: Create and maintain technical documentation detailing the application architecture, codebase, and processes. Follow best practices for clean code, scalability, and performance.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 3-4 years of experience in a backend development role with a focus on Shopify and PHP. Experience in Agile environments, collaborating across cross-functional teams Worked and developed websites specifically catering to US market.
Essential Skills

PHP Programming: Expertise in the PHP language and object-oriented design principles. Databases: Knowledge of various database systems and how to integrate them with PHP applications. Web Technologies: Understanding of core web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for integration purposes. Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve complex coding issues and bugs. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams and clients. Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to writing code to prevent errors and ensure functionality.
Having Knowledge in Shopify and PHP frameworks, such as Laravel, is a value-added/preferable skill.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: ?800,000.00 - ?1,550,000.00 per year
