The Role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer whose primary responsibility will be designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade APIs using Node.js. You'll build the backbone of our client platforms, powering web applications, mobile apps, and third-party integrations.

What You'll Do

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express (or similar frameworks)

Implement API authentication, authorization, versioning, error handling, and consistent response structures

Write efficient database queries and manage schemas in PostgreSQL

Integrate with third-party APIs and external services, handling webhooks, OAuth flows, and rate limiting

Document APIs thoroughly for seamless consumption by frontend and mobile teams

Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards of code quality, security, and performance

Required Qualifications

1-2 years of professional experience in backend development with Node.js

Strong proficiency in building RESTful APIs with proper structure, versioning, and documentation

Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization

Demonstrated experience integrating with third-party APIs and external services

Understanding of API security practices (JWT, OAuth, rate limiting, input validation)

Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows

Nice to Have

Experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments

Familiarity with Knative or serverless function architectures

Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)

Exposure to microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
