Elchemy is a tech-enabled chemicals distribution company solving supply chain challenges by taking a software-first approach. It was founded in the latter half of 2021 in the backdrop of global supply chain shocks induced due to the pandemic making the opportunity ripe for disruption. The team comprises alumni from IIT-B, IIT-D, IIT-KGP, IIM-A, & IIM-R & have previously worked at companies like Amazon Seattle, Samsung South Korea, Provakil, SRF, Laxmi Organics, Sojitz Japan. Within just 2 months of launch, the company secured $2M in pre-seed funding from marquee VCs and angel investors, including promoters of some of the publicly listed chemical companies.

We are now looking for Software Engineers to lead the tech team and work directly with the founders to build the product grounds up. Elchemy is looking for a driven and experienced Full Stack Developer to join our growing team and help shape the future of cross-border chemical manufacturing and distribution.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design and develop backend architectures to support robust, scalable, and secure web applications and systems with a focus on backend development using Django.
• Design, implement and maintain high quality RESTful APIs to support seamless communication between frontend, backend and other services.
• Design, implement, and maintain database schemas. Ensure the integrity, performance, and security of data.
• Ensure the scalability and reliability of our backend infrastructure on AWS. Ensure reliable management of infrastructure on cloud aiming for 0 downtime of systems.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, while adhering to best practices and industry standards. Develop and maintain documentation for our backend systems, APIs, and data models.
• Develop responsive, dynamic, and scalable web applications using modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, etc.).
• Design and develop robust web and mobile applications, primarily focusing on frontend using JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, jQuery)
• Create responsive, mobile-friendly, and cross-browser compatible interfaces using CSS frameworks like Bootstrap or Foundation, ensuring optimal performance through techniques like asset compression, load time reduction, and HTTP request minimization.
• Conduct high quality code reviews and provide feedback to other team members to ensure best practices are adhered to.
• Take ownership of the development, testing, and deployment of web applications. Break down high-level business problems into smaller chunks and build systems.
• Constantly aim to improve performance and optimize systems by identifying bottlenecks and resolving them for increased efficiency.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies such as LLMs, and implement them as and when required
• Proactively debug and troubleshoot front-end issues, and contribute to improving our release cycles.
• Stay ahead of the curve--research and implement the latest trends, tools, and best practices in front-end development.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 2-4 years of full-stack development experience.
• Strong in Python, Django, and Django Rest Framework; proficient with SQL/PostgreSQL for schema design and optimization.
• Solid frontend skills with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, and familiarity with TypeScript, UI libraries (Material UI, Tailwind, Bootstrap), and component-based architecture.
• Hands-on with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda), Git, and Docker; Kubernetes is a plus.
• Understanding of software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and writing clean, maintainable code.
• Familiarity with third-party integrations, open-source frameworks, and emerging LLM frameworks (Langchain, OpenAI, etc.).
