Job Description

A hotel front office job involves being the first point of contact for guests, handling check-ins/outs, managing reservations, answering inquiries, resolving complaints, and coordinating with other hotel departments (housekeeping, maintenance) to ensure a smooth, positive guest experience from arrival to departure, requiring strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Key Responsibilities:

Guest Services:

Warmly greet, welcome, and check-in/out guests; handle special requests (taxis, wake-up calls); provide info on hotel/local area.

Reservations:

Manage bookings via phone, online, or in-person; assign rooms and offer upgrades.

Communication:

Operate switchboard, direct calls, relay messages, and coordinate with other teams.

Financials:

Process payments (cash, credit), compute bills, balance cash drawers, and post charges.

Problem Solving:

Address guest complaints and issues promptly and professionally, escalating when necessary.

Administration:

Maintain guest records, prepare reports, and keep the reception area tidy.
Essential Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure. Basic computer proficiency (Property Management Systems - PMS). Professional demeanor and appearance.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous hospitality or customer service experience is often preferred.
