The Front Office & Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front desk, ensuring exceptional guest experience, driving room sales, managing reservations, and maximizing hotel revenue. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to sales and guest handling.
Key Responsibilities1. Front Office Operations
Supervise and manage front office staff, ensuring smooth check-in/check-out processes.
Maintain accurate room inventory across PMS and OTA channels.
Handle guest queries, escalations, complaints, and special requests.
Ensure lobby cleanliness, grooming standards, and guest service protocols are followed.
Coordinate with Housekeeping and F&B teams for room readiness and guest requirements.
Prepare daily arrival list, room status, and guest preference reports.
2. Sales & Revenue Responsibilities
Convert walk-ins, calls, WhatsApp, and OTA guest inquiries into confirmed bookings.
Work closely with sales/revenue team to maintain rate parity and maximize daily pickup.
Generate new business through local corporate tie-ups and travel agents.
Track daily sales performance, occupancy trends, and revenue opportunities.
Support dynamic pricing by sharing competitor insights and market demand updates.
Upsell rooms, meal plans, transportation, and additional hotel services.
3. Reservation Management
Manage all reservations received from PMS, OTAs, WhatsApp, email, and phone.
Ensure confirmation of all bookings to avoid no-shows/unconfirmed rooms.
Maintain accuracy of guest contact details, payment status, and reservation notes.
Coordinate special requests and VIP arrivals with relevant teams.
4. Guest Experience & Relationship Management
Ensure every guest receives warm, professional service throughout their stay.
Handle escalated guest issues with quick resolution.
Maintain high online review scores (Booking.com, Google, Airbnb, MMT, Agoda, etc.).
Request reviews from happy guests and work with marketing/social media team.
5. Reporting & Coordination
Prepare daily FO reports: room inventory, revenue pickup, conversion tracking.
Maintain attendance, duty rosters, and shift schedules.
Ensure cash handling, advance payments, and bill settlements are accurate.
Share daily updates with management team and escalate major issues.
Skills & Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Front Office / Hotel Operations / Sales.
Strong communication skills (English, Tamil preferred).
Hands-on knowledge of hotel PMS
Excellent guest handling, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Ability to drive sales and achieve occupancy/revenue targets.
Strong coordination and leadership abilities.
Ready to work flexible shifts as per hotel requirement.
