Oversee the daily operations within the Inpatient Department, ensuring effective management of patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
Coordinate with the clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure smooth patient flow and minimize delays in treatment or discharge.
Assist in bed management by ensuring that beds are allocated appropriately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
Patient Care & Experience:
Ensure high-quality patient care by supporting clinical teams in meeting patient needs and responding to inquiries and concerns.
Monitor patient satisfaction levels and assist in implementing strategies to improve the patient experience within the IPD/OPD.
Ensure that patients' rights and confidentiality are maintained in line with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
Staff Coordination & Supervision:
Support the management and coordination of inpatient staff (e.g., nurses, medical assistants, administrative staff) to ensure adequate coverage and resource availability.
Assist in the training and orientation of new staff in the IPD/OPD, ensuring they are familiar with hospital procedures and patient care protocols.
Ensure staff adherence to hospital policies and procedures, promoting a culture of high-quality patient care.
Resource Management:
Monitor and manage the availability of medical equipment, supplies, and medications required in the IPD/OPD to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
Work with procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely procurement and replenishment of required resources.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all operations within the IPD/OPD comply with hospital standards, healthcare regulations, and accreditation requirements.
Support regular audits, quality assurance activities, and safety protocols to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Assist in infection control practices and ensure adherence to cleanliness and sterilization procedures.
Reporting & Documentation:
Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including admissions, discharges, transfers, and any significant changes in the patient's condition.
Prepare and submit regular reports on bed occupancy, patient flow, staffing levels, and other operational KPIs to senior management.
Document any issues or discrepancies in operations and assist in troubleshooting and resolving problems.
Collaboration & Communication:
Foster effective communication between different hospital departments, such as nursing, medical staff, admissions, and administration, to ensure seamless operations and patient care.
Act as a liaison between patients, their families, and hospital staff, ensuring clear communication regarding patient status and care plans.
Participate in daily or weekly operational meetings to discuss departmental needs, concerns, and improvements.
