Job Description

The Front Office & IP Billing Executive plays a dual role of welcoming and guiding patients at the front desk and managing all billing activities related to in-patient (IP) admissions. This position requires strong communication, coordination, and technical skills to ensure seamless patient service and accurate billing.

Key Responsibilities:Front Office Duties:



Greet and assist patients, attendants, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. Register new patients and update existing records in the Hospital Information System (HIS). Coordinate with departments for patient appointments, admissions, and service queries. Handle phone calls, inquiries, and patient complaints efficiently. Manage patient admission and discharge formalities in coordination with the ward and nursing team. Maintain front office cleanliness and ensure a welcoming environment.

IP Billing Duties:



Generate provisional and final bills for in-patient services. Post charges for services, procedures, pharmacy, diagnostics, nursing, and room rent into the billing system. Monitor daily billing entries and update patient account ledgers. Coordinate with consultants, nurses, and departments to ensure all charges are captured before discharge. Handle insurance and TPA (Third Party Administrator) billing documentation, approvals, and queries. Collect payments (cash/card/UPI/insurance) and issue receipts. Prepare daily billing reports and hand them over to the accounts department. Maintain records of billing audits and support in resolving billing disputes or queries.

Qualifications:



Minimum: Graduate in Commerce, Business Administration, or any related field Preferred: Diploma in Hospital Administration / Health Care Management Experience: 1-3 years in front office or billing role in a hospital or healthcare setup Familiarity with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and EMR preferred

Skills Required:



Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Basic accounting and billing knowledge Strong data entry and typing accuracy Good understanding of hospital billing workflow (procedures, diagnostics, IP package billing, TPA/insurance flow) Customer service mindset and ability to handle pressure Proficiency in MS Office and billing software

Desirable Attributes:



Knowledge of TPA insurance procedures and medical terminology Experience in NABH/JCI-accredited hospital Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays
