As a Front Desk Receptionist in our hospital, you will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff. Your role is crucial in creating a positive and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities:
Greeting and Assisting Visitors:
Welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide information and directions to various hospital departments.
Patient Registration:
Collect and verify patient information during the registration process.
Ensure accurate entry of patient details into the hospital database.
Appointment Scheduling:
Manage appointment schedules for various departments.
Coordinate with medical staff to schedule appointments efficiently.
Telephone Management:
Answer and direct incoming phone calls to the appropriate departments.
Take and relay messages in a timely and accurate manner.
Administrative Support:
Assist with administrative tasks, including sorting and distributing mail, maintaining records, and managing office supplies.
Coordinate with other departments to facilitate smooth operations.
Insurance Verification:
Verify and update patient insurance information.
Assist patients with insurance-related inquiries and processes.
Cash Handling:
Handle patient payments, issue receipts, and maintain accurate records.
Coordinate with billing and finance departments as needed.
Emergency Response:
Follow established protocols for handling emergency situations.
Ensure effective communication during emergencies.
Customer Service:
Address inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Strive to provide excellent customer service to enhance the overall patient experience.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification is a plus.
Proven experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Proficient in using computer applications and basic office equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Familiarity with medical terminology is an advantage.
