Job Summary

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in welding processes and fabrication to support the development, optimization, and quality assurance of welded components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will work closely with production, quality, and design teams to improve welding operations, ensure compliance with standards, and enhance product reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, design, and optimize welded structures, jigs, and fixtures used in core welding applications. Prepare and review welding drawings, WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications), PQR (Procedure Qualification Records), and WPQ (Welder Performance Qualifications). Provide technical guidance on welding processes such as MIG, TIG, ARC, Spot Welding, Laser Welding, etc. Perform engineering analyses, including stress analysis and weld strength evaluation. Troubleshoot welding-related issues on the shop floor and recommend corrective/preventive actions. Collaborate with production teams to improve welding efficiency, reduce defects, and increase throughput. Ensure compliance with welding standards such as ASME, AWS, ISO, and company-specific guidelines. Conduct root cause analysis for weld failures and develop improvement plans. Support material selection based on weldability, mechanical properties, and application requirements. Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure proper inspection, NDT methods (UT, RT, PT, MT), and documentation. Participate in equipment selection, maintenance planning, and the implementation of new welding technologies or automation.
