Boston World School is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced
French Language Teacher
to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach French from Grade 1 through to IGCSE, fostering a love for language learning and cultural exploration. The ideal applicant will possess a strong background in teaching French within the Cambridge curriculum, with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Delivery
: Teach French to students from Grade 1 through to IGCSE, following the Cambridge curriculum and ensuring high academic standards.
Lesson Planning & Delivery
: Develop, plan, and implement engaging, interactive, and effective lessons that cater to students' varied learning styles.
Student Assessment & Feedback
: Regularly assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive and timely feedback.
Language Development
: Foster students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in French, using a range of methodologies to encourage language acquisition and fluency.
Classroom Management
: Maintain a positive, respectful, and productive classroom environment conducive to learning.
Parental Communication
: Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns that may arise.
Collaboration
: Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure an integrated approach to student learning and development.
Professional Development
: Keep up-to-date with developments in the French language curriculum, teaching strategies, and education best practices. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Degree
: A Bachelor's degree in French, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Teaching Qualification
: A B.Ed or a recognized teaching qualification.
Experience
: Minimum 2 years of teaching experience within the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum, specifically in teaching French as a foreign language.
Subject Knowledge
: Strong proficiency in both spoken and written French, with the ability to teach the language at various levels, from beginner to advanced.
