Liaise daily with major shipping lines and forwarders (MSC, CMA CGM, Maersk, Hapag Lloyd, Evergreen, etc.).
Obtain and compare ocean freight quotes for container and bulk shipments.
Negotiate rates based on volume commitments and seasonality.
Maintain an updated rate database for all key routes (India, Brazil, the Middle East, Africa).
Client Quotation
Prepare export freight quotations for customers based on destination, volume, and Incoterms (e.g., FOB, CIF).
Ensure profit margins are maintained while staying competitive.
Respond quickly to inquiries from the sales team or clients.
Shipment Coordination
Book containers with selected carriers and confirm schedules.
Coordinate cargo readiness with factory (Bariq Stone / Jabal Exim production teams).
Arrange documentation -- shipping instructions, draft BL, etc.
Track shipments until delivery at destination port and update clients.
Vendor Management
Build strong relationships with shipping line agents, CHA (Customs House Agents), and transporters.
Evaluate and recommend the best forwarders based on service and reliability.
Cost Control & Reporting
Track all shipping costs to ensure targets are met.
Provide weekly reports on rates, booked shipments, and cost savings.
Suggest more economical routes or consolidation options.
Required Skills
Deep knowledge of
